This old saying portrays a picture of what ACE has experienced this spring on the ground. For the first time in years, we have been blessed with many incredible volunteer teams in a row! Ranging from families, high school students, college teams, and a great mix of young adults, they came to help us get caught up on our many outreach programs. They worked tirelessly around St. Mary at the schools, on our farm, and even preparing for some new businesses and items coming online later this year. We’d love to highlight some of the many projects they worked on...

In 2019, Brian and I were vacationing in Jamaica, and we experienced God undoubtedly and distinctively calling us to uproot our life and come serve Him there. As a family, we came as a package deal, so that included our kids – at the time, nine-year-old twins and a four-year-old. It took a lot of prayer from the whole family to give that “yes” to God, but there were moments after giving it to Him that I still had my doubts. After 15 years of life in Knoxville, we had built such an amazing support system, surrounded by family and friends. I had comfort and security. How could we give that up?

ACE is always looking for ways to cultivate relationships and restore people that just need a little help along the way. We are very proud to say that we, as individuals with ACE, are just the hands and feet of a greater story, the story of a Savior who loves all His people enough to bear the weight of our sin and bring us to restoration.

In the same vein of help, we found a horse along the way that had been left to die on its own through starvation...

Answered Prayers & Prayer Requests

ANSWERED PRAYER God has been sending us volunteers who are more than willing to take on the challenging tasks we have need of from PE to Plumbing to Painting and beyond!

PRAYER REQUEST With the US and Canada recruiting our workers from Jamaica, we are having many challenges hiring people to fill our positions. We train and they leave. Pray that we will get some Nationals that want to stay. ACE cannot compete against a $20US an hour job sweeping floors, but we can’t blame them for taking the jobs and sending money back to their families.

ANSWERED PRAYER Allen has been more and more present. As most of you know, we take care of Betty, his mother, and, while she is in good health, she will be 91 this summer. We are blessed to have a friend with us this month, helping us meet Betty’s needs.

PRAYER REQUEST Pray for Althia, otherwise called Ms. Foster, for her health. She has struggled for many years after a fall in her home. She may need back surgery and we are praying if so, it will be minimum. At the same time, it is believed this injury is the cause of most of her other health problems and that could be eliminated.

ANSWERED PRAYER D’Vaun is really understanding his purpose with ACE, and it’s been a joy to watch him take the reins in leadership and run with it. Thank you all for supporting him. We truly appreciate all he does.

PRAYER REQUEST We need software for a restaurant. With Buccaneers, Treasure Chest Ice Cream and now Henry’s Hideout, it’s impossible for us to keep up. If anyone wants to donate or can invest time to show us what we need and help us get started, we would be grateful. The food court is carrying us with local (Jamaican) payroll.

ANSWERED PRAYER We have some house sitters at the Campus and a few more coming. Just knowing we have someone at the Campus to feed the dogs, keep the grounds in good shape and help us is a great relief. We could use more sitters in July and August (yes, we know, it’s hot).
