I have experienced cheerful giving both while living in Jamaica and as the Stateside Sponsorship Coordinator. To give an unexpected gift and see faces react with gratitude fills the giver’s heart with much joy. I often get asked by sponsors about ways they can give or assist our children and their families beyond the monthly pledge amount. I feel blessed to work with our generous sponsors.

In 2011 the school where I worked, Heritage Academy, began sponsoring Anthony, or Antonio as he was known then. He attended Hampstead Primary school. He was very shy and hesitant to speak. After finishing at Hampstead, he began attending Edgehill School for Special Needs. In June of 2016, I finally had the opportunity to meet Anthony in person. He was still quiet and shy, but when encouraged, his smile made my day!

All we can say here on the ground at ACE in Jamaica is……whew!!! What a surprise hit we received from Hurricane Beryl. Who would have thought, this early in the summer? As we watched Beryl coming towards us, all hands on deck began preparing for the storm. God answered all our prayers throughout the Nation by turning Beryl slightly away from us getting a direct hit at the last minute.

Answered Prayers & Prayer Requests

PRAYER REQUEST Financial help with our generator and other items. We are stranded without a working generator. We need parts for the one we have and are trying to purchase a larger generator for the hotel that is used here on the island. Our solar units also took a hit and need repair. Anything is appreciated.

PRAYER REQUEST Physical help in operating our Bobcat, tractor, chainsaws etc. with our men at the farm. They are exhausted, and, this week, Allen and the three men who came down did an outstanding job of opening up one pasture road behind the pig pen. The cattle are able to move through to the water. We have five more roads to go.

ANSWERED PRAYER Thank you Harold, Randy, and Larry for giving us your time and talent to help Allen all week and Huie and his men to cut through the debris.

ANSWERED PRAYER While we lost roofs on the bathroom and the cistern up at the great house, we faired well otherwise.

PRAYER REQUEST Pray for electricity to be restored as fallen lines are everywhere.

ANSWERED PRAYER Thank you to the July teams for remaining firm on your commitment to fly down and help us.

ANSWERED PRAYER Our first VBS for the year took off this month with 34 kids showing up at Mason Hall. Now that’s good news!!

A Call to Give Electronically

It is always ACE’s top priority to protect the gifts we receive from our donors. That’s why we want to make you aware of recent issues that we’ve experienced with the Atlanta USPS and offer alternatives to continue supporting ACE in timely and secure ways. In recent months, we have seen donor checks being returned to donors and never making it to our office, as well as ACE receiving donor checks several months after they were sent in the mail.

In an effort to make sure that none of your gifts are ever lost in the system, we encourage you to send your gifts electronically if possible.

  1. Set up a recurring donation using a credit card via PayPal on our website.
  2. Send donations via Zelle, directed to accounting@acexperience.org.
  3. Contact your bank directly to have them wire money to our Truist account.

For more information regarding this issue with USPS, or on the various ways you can send your donations to ACE, please read our blog below.
