As Thanksgiving approaches, we find ourselves reflecting on the many reasons to be thankful. Over the last year, we’ve launched a partnership with Samaritan’s Purse, seen dozens of teams come down to be the hands and feet of Christ, and watched people’s Faith deepen at our Peace House gatherings with Pastor Omar. 

Yet in all these blessings — if we’re being honest — this season has been a tough one. With a few beloved staff members starting new chapters in their lives, setbacks in projects popping up, and the banknote for the Green Life farm looming over us, it can be hard to keep our heads up.

But, as usual, God is so good and so kind to remind us that it’s never in our power or ACE’s power that we make mountains move in St. Mary, Jamaica. It’s only in the powerful name of Jesus Christ!

For the last 35 years, God has blessed our work at ACE. He has shown up in ways we never thought possible, opened doors we never dreamed of opening, and given us a stronger community than we could have ever imagined. 

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for believing in our work to change lives and transform communities. Thank you for seeing us through the great years and the challenging seasons, all in the name of glorifying God. 

We could not do it without you. Whether you’ve donated a single moment of your time, one dollar of your finances, or just one prayer up to the Lord on our behalf, your support is noticed and appreciated. Together, we can continue to sow the seeds of hope, nurtured dreams, and harvested progress.

This Thanksgiving, as we gather with our loved ones to celebrate, we extend our warmest wishes to you and your family. By your actions, you have filled our community with hope, love, and opportunity; may your hearts be just as full.

As always, we have big dreams and plans for 2024 to continue living out our Faith through our four main spheres of influence: education, wellness, micro-enterprise, and spiritual development. ANSWERED PRAYER Thanks to a generous donor, we've met the financial needs to complete construction on the second Children's Home!

PRAYER REQUEST Even with our construction funds, we still need about $3,000 to build kitchen cabinets and bunk beds in each unit of the duplex in the second Children's Home.

ANSWERED PRAYER We had an amazing team in Jamaica last week from Bayshore Christian School! They were hard at work doing construction, taking care of our farm animals, painting Ms. Cookie’s house, and more.

PRAYER REQUEST The banknote on our Green Life Farm property mortgage is due September 2024. We still need to raise about $350,000 in order to keep the farm and continue creating new jobs and opportunities for people in the community.

ANSWERED PRAYER Thanks to a recent tropical storm, we have received an abundance of rain!

PRAYER REQUEST Even with the rain, we still need to dig a well on our farm that will allow us to provide clean water to the community, which will take about $25,000 in funding to achieve.

ANSWERED PRAYER We have broken ground on the greenhouse installation! The walls are coming up (see our blog above for pictures), and we are excited to create more jobs for people in the community as they help us install the greenhouse now and garden and maintain the greenhouse after.

PRAYER REQUEST Along with our greenhouse installation comes a need for us to fund the full installation process, as well as purchase 150 aeroponic towers. These towers will help us save space in the greenhouse and maximize the about of food we are able to produce for members of the community, as well as local hotels and restaurants, including Galina Breeze.

ANSWERED PRAYER We recently had a fire in the solar house where we keep all of our solar batteries. We are praising God that even though there was about $8,000 in damage, no one was hurt and the fire didn’t spread!
