Long-time volunteer Arlene is currently in Jamaica helping ACE with our annual Backpack Distribution Days, a hectic, crazy, fun three days when we give our students their new backpacks, complete with school supplies, ready-made uniforms, and/or fabric for ones that need a seamstress. Get a recap of this year’s event on our blog.

One of the biggest lessons Marla learned on her high school basketball team was that we all succeed in life when we have a team around us to pull for us, share with, and even contribute to our best so that others can do their part to make a score for the team. Next month is the beginning and the end of a big game for us as we prepare to pay the final note on ACE's 838-acre farmland. Get the details on our blog and help us prepare for a full court press.

Answered Prayers & Prayer Requests

ANSWERED PRAYER Our generator is back online! Thanks to all of you who helped us rebuild the generator that was destroyed in the solar fire about a year ago, we were able to purchase a new engine and all that goes with it. We tried to get a newer used model, but even then, the expense would have taken us over the top. Because of our supporters who sent us funds and contacts, we went “live” yesterday and the “ole girl” is back on track and better than ever. What a blessing!

PRAYER REQUEST We need a welder to help us do repair work on our solar frames at the hotel, as well as the fence gates at the farm. There is a lot of rust, and believe it or not, we cannot get anyone to help do this type of welding. If you’re available for about a week, we’d love to have the help.

ANSWERED PRAYER Our students start back to school the first week in September, and we are ready. Backpack distribution and all that goes with it took over two weeks! That included giving out all of the school supplies, as well as getting caught up on who is going to which school, gathering new phone numbers, etc. If you support a student, you should be hearing from them soon! They are happy and excited to have your support and receive new books, bags, food, and more.

PRAYER REQUEST The pastor and family we hoped would be joining ACE full time from Kingston declined our offer, but it’s all good. They have three teenagers in three different schools. Pray when the time comes, God will send us a local pastor to come live in St Mary and take the lead as our Peace House Pastor.

ANSWERED PRAYER The rice packs are much appreciated. One pack goes a long way with a family of five. Add some chicken to it, and you’ve got a full meal. I’m sure we will need all we can get.

PRAYER REQUEST There are still entire communities without electricity on the island from Hurricane Beryl, including our own Crum-Ewing family in Robin’s Bay. These families need prayers. Those of us on JPS power are shocked at how much we are being charged to have electricity. Pray we get our solar units at full capacity, and that everyone on the island will get online soon.

ANSWERED PRAYER With all of our prayer requests, we are still so happy to be an outreach source for our entire community. We have more mothers and fathers of our sponsored students, both current and from the past, working and earning through ACE because of you.

PRAYER REQUEST We could use more manpower this last quarter of 2024! Tractor drivers, Bobcat experts, mechanics, welders, plumbers, electricians – you name it, we could use it. If you have a week or more to give, please call our stateside office at (877) 500-5768 and speak with Susan, our Stateside Director.

A Call to Give Electronically

It is always ACE’s top priority to protect the gifts we receive from our donors. That’s why we want to make you aware of recent issues that we’ve experienced with the Atlanta USPS and offer alternatives to continue supporting ACE in timely and secure ways. In recent months, we have seen donor checks being returned to donors and never making it to our office, as well as ACE receiving donor checks several months after they were sent in the mail.

In an effort to make sure that none of your gifts are ever lost in the system, we encourage you to send your gifts electronically if possible.

  1. Set up a recurring donation using a credit card via PayPal on our website.
  2. Send donations via Zelle, directed to accounting@acexperience.org.
  3. Contact your bank directly to have them wire money to our Truist account.

For more information regarding this issue with USPS, or on the various ways you can send your donations to ACE, please read our blog below.
