When God closes the door to something that has been very special to many people, there are several mixed emotions that surface! This is what many of us experienced when the gate to the entrance of the Port Maria Infirmary was shut to outsiders. But God knew this was going to happen, and He already had a plan ordained for ACE to embrace. Read the full article to discover how ACE Mobile Infirmary (AMI) was born to meet the physical and spiritual needs of our community's elderly and infirm.

We at ACE run into a lot of young adults trying to figure out who they are, how they can make an impact, what decisions they should make in life, and how they can find their purpose. My advice is to start by asking God to show you where you can make a difference in someone’s life within your own “yaad”. It’s easy to pray if you don’t have to follow prayer with action... Read the full article to see how Marla's recent reflections from the book of Jeremiah in the Bible can help us all work toward finding our purpose or calling.

Volunteer Spotlight

Marty and Krista have a wealth of knowledge regarding how to raise cattle, pigs, and chickens, as well as grow food. Earlier this year, they spent a full month with ACE and taught our farm staff how to manage and feed the pigs well. We had a team come in and help build a runner for the pigs so they could be moved without having to chase them around the yard. Not only did they teach and train, but they also developed close relationships with our farm staff, offering morning devotionals with Huie and his team.

Answered Prayers & Prayer Requests

ANSWERED PRAYER The flights to Ochi on AA have proven to be such a relief to the individuals who fly in and volunteer. While you must connect in Miami, that 12-minute drive to the hotel is wonderful. Let’s pray AA will continue the service so our volunteers can be in and out much quicker.

ANSWERED PRAYER We are very close to announcing some new faces that have arrived to assist ACE with weekly dinners at the Peace House. These volunteers will also help with Bible studies and teaching programs to encourage anyone who wants to come, hear the good news about how they matter, and what they can do to grow in their walk with Jesus. Stay tuned for more info.

PRAYER REQUEST Every 7-8 years, ACE goes through a “trimming” process with staff. Like most gardens, sometimes the parts that aren’t growing have to be cut to increase the life of the tree. We are doing this in all areas of ACE. While it’s good, we ask for your prayers that God will continue to work in the lives of those individuals who don’t want to grow with us. Pray that God will replace those who have left with a fresh face and those who are eager to see God work in their workplace, as well as their personal lives.

ANSWERED PRAYER Look at them grow!! Remember a little over 5 years ago when we were starting our cattle herd at Green Life Farms? It was a micro-business to raise much-needed beef on the island. As of this week, the 20 we started with has grown to 108 heads of cattle. We are selling them, and it’s helping to pay our staff and expenses. Thank you all for contributing to this business.

PRAYER REQUEST As we prepare for our Volunteers to arrive, we ask that they all come with “no expectations,” except to serve. Many times, good people make a lot of requests that may be simple in the States but are very challenging here in Jamaica. We want to please everyone, but we are asking for prayer that our volunteers will curb their requests to do all the extra and above what we may not be able to deliver. If every leader gets their teams to memorize our five statements listed below before arriving in Jamaica, it will help us so much!
