FDDC Survey: 5-Year Plan

Together, Our Work Matters!

The Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, Inc. (FDDC) is counting on YOU to help set the direction for our next 5-year state plan for Florida’s intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) community. The new plan begins in October 2026.

We need your feedback now! The more data we collect, the better we can represent you. Click one of the two links below to complete an electronic survey.

  • Survey for families/caregivers here
  • Survey for individuals with developmental disabilities here

Survey respondents must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

Your input will be included in FDDC’s Comprehensive Review & Analysis. This report provides information about how individuals with I/DD and their families are being supported and where improvements need to be made.

Additionally, we will be recruiting participants for information-gathering sessions called focus groups. These conversations will take a deeper look into important issues facing individuals with I/DD and their families. More information is coming soon.

The time you spend now will help us impact the lives of Floridians with I/DD and their families. Please plan to participate and tell those you know to participate too!

Everyone’s life counts and everyone’s voice matters.

FDDC Publications: Council Research Report

With support from a grant awarded by the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, the University of Florida and the University of Miami conducted a year-long study on the status of behavior therapists across Florida.

The report highlights factors contributing to the shortage of providers and offers recommendations to increase the workforce and improve the quality of services for individuals with challenging behaviors.

Thank you for standing with us and for being part of the change we’re working toward together.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month: October

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month!

Good jobs change lives, and all workers — including workers with disabilities — deserve the opportunity to prepare for, obtain and succeed in them. Reflecting this, “Access to Good Jobs for All” is this year’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month (#NDEAM) theme.
