Church School and Youth Ministries

Nursery Care and Preschool - Rm 208 (ages 3 to PreK)

9:15am-11:00am

Church School 10:45am - Second Floor Classrooms

Church school is up and running. Along with Children’s Chapel, we are focusing on our peace with and stewardship of God’s creation. This Sunday, we are beginning a school-wide project, The Redeemer Mosaic, in which the children will be creating a tile mosaic of Church of the Redeemer circa 1881. This project is designed to engage creativity, encourage cooperation among the children, and foster an understanding of The Redeemer’s history and stewardship in our community. All children ages 3 to 11 are invited. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Glenn Beamer at gbeamer@theredeemer.org

Youth Confirmation Class Confirmation, the ceremony of affirming the vows said on one’s behalf at Baptism, is available to all those interested. Traditionally done in the 7th or 8th Grade year, please contact Jeremy O’Neill if you or your child is interested. The class meets weekly starting in October.

The Redeemer Youth Group RYG, is going to Blue Mountain Sunday from 12-5 for a ropes course and zip lining adventure. These trips contribute to team building and faith in Gods ever watchful eye, supporting us through life’s chosen and unchosen challenges. We also develop a sense of confidence in our own abilities when facing a fear of heights or loss of control. We will continue our discussion of Paul at Bible Breakfast this Thursday at 7:15 am.

Report from Canterbury Choir Pilgrimage

After finally arriving in Canterbury (that’s a nightmare story all to its own) the choir enjoyed a highly successful and spirit-filled week of leading Choral Evensongs and Worship at Canterbury Cathedral. Please join us as we share a photo and video report along with personal experiences. A webpage, that’s coming soon, will include direct links to the recorded livestreams of the daily services. If you can’t wait, visit YouTube and search Choral Evensong Canterbury Cathedral, August 12 thru 17. (See the end panel for a lovely letter from the cathedral music administrator.)
