Church School and Youth Ministries

Church School 10:45am - Second Floor Classrooms

The Redeemer’s church school is off to an energetic, fun start. This coming week, we will be having our classes in rooms 216 and 215 on the second floor of the parish house. We will be moving from learning about Genesis and God’s creation to Exodus and the Jews search for God’s peace in creation.  


Youth Confirmation Class Confirmation, the ceremony of affirming the vows said on one’s behalf at Baptism, is available to all those interested. Traditionally done in the 7th or 8th Grade year, please contact Jeremy O’Neill if you or your child is interested. The class meets weekly starting in October. 


The Redeemer Youth Group RYG goes to St Francis Inn this morning to serve the community of Kensington a warm meal and an afternoon of fellowship. We will meet as usual Sunday evening from 4-6 pm to continue our conversation around REST, along with some fun outside games, Bible trivia and a shared meal. This Thursday we meet for Bible Breakfast to continue our discussion of Paul’s letter to the Romans. Please join us!

NEW Speaker Series Begins - Faith Under Fire: the Art of Defiance

John Hougen, Coordinator, The Art of Interfaith Understanding

We kick off our series of outside speakers focusing on the relationship between Art and Faith. John Hougen will present to us an exhibit he recently showcased at the Philadelphia Museum of Art entitled: The Art of Defiance. John is ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is Coordinator of The Art of Interfaith Understanding, an annual series of programs sponsored by Interfaith Philadelphia and the Office of Community Engagement at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Speaker Series continues next week, October 5, with Carolyn Harper.
