Refill Your Cup

You have most likely been told at some point, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” The cup is you! When you pour from your cup, that means you’re giving of yourself to others. That may mean your time, your energy, your courtesy, your efforts, your creativity, and so on. But you don’t have a bottomless cup. You have to fill yourself back up with all the things that make you YOU—like quality sleep, time spent with loved ones, or a kayak trip down the river. Replenish your reserves so that when it comes time to help others, you don’t feel resentful or like there is nothing left to give.

Check out this adorable illustration from Dominee Calderon, from her Self-Love Rainbow website and Facebook page. Dominee creates worksheets and workbooks for those looking to go on a self-love journey. Here, she offers some suggestions for ways you can fill up your cup.

The school year has begun and you will be helping others in many ways over the next 9 months. That’s nothing new, right? You got into the educator field to make a difference and to help. Make a commitment today that you also help yourself. Refill your cup whenever you can. And if you need a little extra help doing so, give us a call for some counseling or coaching: 855.233.1048. We want you to end the year just as fulfilled and healthy and excited to help others as you are when starting out the year.
