Fall Classes

After a week of beautiful fall weather, I'm excited to get outside this weekend and soak up some of the beauty that fall has to offer. I'm going to jump right into this email without any delay.

New Arrival - Lakeside Gatherings!

September is definitely flannel month at Quilters Cupboard with glorious flannels arriving to restock the shelves. Lakeside Gatherings, the new collection from Primitive Gatherings, makes a wonderful addition to the flannel section.

If you ask Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings, there’s nothing like living on the shores of a lake to make one appreciate its subtle beauty. Blues go from dark shades to brilliant blues as clouds pass by. The sandy coloured shoreline remains constant, bringing life to the lake, such as birds and children who splash about. And through the winter, the lake’s silence creates a sense of peace that is truly mesmerizing.

Watching the daily changing of the season from Lisa’s studio was the inspiration for Lakeside Gatherings. She wanted to capture the warm and bright colours of summer, as well as the cold serenity of wintertime in a flannel line to inspire quilts of all shapes and sizes, perfect for breezy afternoons or cold winter nights. 

We have 21-pieces from the Lakeside Gatherings collection available. You can bring them all home in the form of 21-piece fat quarter or fat eighth bundles. You can also bring them home in Layer Cakes and Charm Packs. These 42-piece packages will include 2 of each of the fabrics.

Kit Inspiration!

We like to find ways to inspire you with each new collection and Lakeside Gatherings is no exception.

Snowmen simply melt hearts with this playful design by Deb Grogan! This quilt features a whimsical gathering of smiling snow folk, brimming with personality, and all bundled up for winter fun. New Arrival! Favorite Things

Favorite Things, the Christmas collection from the mother-daughter team Sherri and Chelsi, has finally arrived in the store after an eventful summer. Despite the delay, we're still excited to share it with you.

Favorite Things combines the whimsy of the magic of the Christmas season with beautiful florals and prints for a variety of celebrations today. There are polka dots, stripes, and plaids along with daisies, leaves, florals, and geometric prints. Beautiful shades of red, green, pink and dark and light grey create a palette that is not only classic but modern for your Christmas and everyday sewing and quilting.

Because the arrival of Favorite Things was somewhat delayed, we were unable to get the complete collection. We were able to get 24 wonderful pieces, more than enough for whatever project that might come to mind.

Classes Available!

Tami is all about pillows for the upcoming holiday season and she'd love to have you join her for a class or two to help inspire you. Tami has two different class options in mind. You can make the Giving Season pillow or try your hand at English Paper Piecing with Grandmother's Flower Garden Block mini-pillow or tablemat.

Dates: Tuesday, November 14th and December 5th

Giving Season - 9:30am - 12:30pm

English Paper Piecing - 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Cost: $58 for each project (2 half days of teaching per project)

Kits are available for both of these classes making it even easier to prepare for class! Of course, you can use your own fabrics as well for either class.
