“Our Faith, God's Faithfulness, Part 4: God and Isaac"
| | |
This Sunday we conclude our Sermon Series entitled “Our Faith, God’s Faithfulness.” This week we will see how God tests Abraham by commanding him to sacrifice his son Isaac. [Genesis 22:1-14]. What is God’s purpose in commanding Abraham to make the unthinkable sacrifice of his favored son? How does Abraham’s response help us when God tests our faith?
Come on Sunday and find out!
Sermons in this series:
Our Faith, God’s Faithfulness
June 7 Part 1: "God and Abram" [Genesis 12:1-9 – God calls Abraham]
June 14 Part 2: “God and Sarah” [Genesis 18:1-15, 21:1-7 – God promises Abram and Sarah a son in their old age]
June 21 Part 3: “God and Hagar” [Genesis 21:8-21 – God saves Ishmael and Hagar]
June 28 Part 4: “God and Isaac” [Genesis 22:1-18 – God tests Abraham’s faith]

Please contact Pastor Lisa, who will then schedule with the FF team to come and look at the items first. Please note that for the White Elephant section, we are no longer taking glassware or small appliances. We will begin taking donations the first week of September.

Laundry Ministry Update - Loads of love!
The SSPC Youth and CORE members continue their new ministry here at the church, the Laundry Ministry. We continue to collect quarters in the Gathering Place, in the laundry basket and purchase laundry cards to hand out to patrons at local Morris Laundromats. Thanks to the blessings of our congregation, we have now raised over $1,000, in quarters! We have handed out hundreds of dollars of gift cards and our ministry continues!
Storyboard Ministry
The Youth have an easel in the Gathering Place with Post-it notes and markers for your prayer requests (no names, please). Each Sunday we collect the requests and pray for them at our CORE meetings. Whatever is on your heart, put it on the storyboard and we will pray for each request. If you see a request that you would like to take with you and pray for, feel free to do so. If you want to add one, please do as well. Our new box for answered prayers is beside the Storyboard. Feel free to place any answered prayers that you are thankful for in the box. God does indeed answer prayers! Blessings.
