On Thursday, January 22, Gene Seroka, Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, delivered the 11th Annual State of the Port address to a sold-out room of over 900 guests.

PORT OF LOS ANGELES AWARDS RECORD $1.85M IN COMMUNITY INVESTMENT GRANTS

PACIFIC CRUISE TERMINALS, LLC SELECTED TO DEVELOP NEW CRUISE TERMINAL

The Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners has approved an unprecedented $1.85 million in grants to support 47 non-profit organizations undertaking initiatives benefiting the communities of the Los Angeles Harbor area through the Port of Los Angeles Community Investment Grant Program. 

The Port has announced that Pacific Cruise Terminals, LLC (PCT), a joint venture between Carrix, Inc. and JLC Infrastructure, has been selected as the developer and operator of the future Outer Harbor cruise terminal. PCT will also take on redevelopment and operation of the existing Cruise Center.

PORT OF LA UNVEILS NEW COMMUNITY INVESTMENT GRANT APPLICATION PROCESS

Maritime and cruise industry veteran Christopher Chase has been named Director of Cargo Marketing at the Port of Los Angeles, the nation’s busiest port. In his new role, Chase is responsible for managing a team of professionals who promote America’s Port® – North America’s largest trade gateway for container volume, which generates Port revenue and thousands of jobs in the region. Chase replaces Eric Caris, who recently retired.

Applications for the Port of Los Angeles Community Investment Grant Program are now being accepted via an all-new online application system launched today. The Port plans to award up to $2 million in non-taxpayer-funded grants for the upcoming 2026/27 fiscal year. 

Fiscal year 2026/27 Community Investment Grant Applications are due by 4 p.m. Pacific, Monday, March 16, 2026.

PACIFIC BATTLESHIP CENTER'S COASTAL AMMENITIES PERMIT APPROVED

PORT OF LOS ANGELES RELEASES DRAFT EIR ON TERMINAL ISLAND FACILITY

The Los Angeles harbor commission approved a coastal permit that will usher in the long-awaited Freedom of the Seas Park and Pavilion at Port of Los Angeles Berth 87 – next to the Battleship Iowa, 250 S. Harbor Blvd. This new development will include a 17,161 square-foot visitor center and some 50,000 square feet of adjacent park space. 

The Port of Los Angeles has released a Partially Revised and Recirculated Draft Environmental Impact Report (RDEIR) for the proposed Terminal Island Maritime Support Facility Project, located in the Port complex at 740 Terminal Way in San Pedro.

SINGAPORE ENTERPRISE

Mayor Karen Bass announced a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Los Angeles and Enterprise Singapore, a government agency under Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, on Jan. 16.
