Bishop Hughes' vlog: Two ways we can think about beginning anew

Two ways we can think about beginning anew

Bishop Hughes returns to the topic of her last vlog post, beginning anew, and addresses two ways we can approach it: as a diocese, which we will do together through our strategic visioning and planning process; and as individuals, discerning what it is God has created us for and striving to mature in our faith and spiritual life. (Time: 5:00.)

October update from the Strategic Visioning Team

The Strategic Visioning Team has spent the last three weeks reaching out to congregations across the diocese to schedule Listening Sessions, as the first phase of the visioning process. A few congregations have already held their sessions, and the Visioning Team met on October 24, 2022 to review how well things are going and make adjustments as needed.

For those folks in the diocese who are unable to attend the listening session at their own congregations, we are offering two virtual sessions on Zoom in December:

  • Thursday, December 1 | 7-8:30 PM
  • Monday, December 12 | 7-8:30 PM

The Visioning Team will share details about how to register for those sessions next month. Read more.

After 40 years, Toni's Kitchen keeps looking to the future to help Montclair community

OCT 11, 2022 | The Record

When Toni’s Kitchen opened in 1982, a handful of women and a cook named Antoinette Green served lunch three days a week to Montclair’s homeless at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. About 700 meals a year were served, restaurant-style, around tables set with flowers, tablecloths and silverware.

Forty years later, Toni’s Kitchen is still providing that warm, nurturing sense of community, but is much more than a soup kitchen. Read more.
