Coffee with a Cop at Los Altos Starbucks

Thanks to Commander Danielle Quinones and LBPD East for holding their “Coffee With a Cop” community forum in CD4 last night. Also thanks to Starbucks Los Altos for providing the venue. Many topics were discussed including e-bikes, homelessness and ADU party houses. Commander Quinones also invited everyone to attend the LBPD Activation Event at Stearns Park next Wednesday. Haynes Station Pipeline Project 

Last week, Long Beach Utilities distributed notices to the neighbors along the west side of Studebaker Rd. between Atherton St.and El Jardin St. The notice included information on an installation project for a 24-inch HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) recycled water main along the West Studebaker service road. Work will occur the entire month of July and construction hours will be between 7 am and 4 pm. Find more information in the notice here.

Underage Kitten Training at LBACS

Learn the essentials of caring for orphaned and underage kittens in this training hosted by Long Beach Animal Care Services in partnership with Helen Sanders CatPAWS. Equipping Water Wells at El Dorado Park

Long Beach Utilities distributed a Public Notification for the Equipping of two municipal water supply wells, Commission 23 A and El Dorado 2, including installation of piping, concrete masonry unit wall, new pumps and motors, and associated electrical work. The work also involves receiving power from Southern California Edison to power the equipment at the existing interconnection between Long Beach and Lakewood. The expected start date is July 20th, 2026 with an expected end date of August 19th, 2027. Virtual City Council Participation begins 7/21

Beginning with the July 21, 2026, City Council meeting, the City of Long Beach will offer virtual public comment, creating additional opportunities for residents to participate in local government. Pursuant to California Senate Bill 707 (SB 707), members of the public will be able to attend City Council meetings remotely and provide live public comment through a two-way audiovisual or telephonic platform. LBPD will be joining over 38 million individuals from 17,000 communities across all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide.
