DCEF Seeking Development Coordinator

The Disciples Church Extension Fund is hiring a full-time Development Coordinator. This position operates remotely from the United States.

Congratulations to Rev. Timothy Polley as he was recognized recently by the Northeast Regional Medical Center where he serves as Chaplain.

He is also the pastor of First Christian Church in Kirksville.

Isaiah 58 Ministries

We celebrate with Isaiah 58 Ministries as they are doing a new thing! They have purchased a new building, are planning a groundbreaking celebration for February 24th, and look forward to transitioning to the new location by November. Their vision is to create a space that will serve as the "heart and hub" of the community, a welcoming place rooted in dignity, connection, nourishment, and hope. Read the whole announcement here>

Upcoming Ordination

Congratulations to Tim Whitmore who will be ordained this coming Sunday, February 8 at First Christian Church in Warrensburg. Originally scheduled for January 25, this event was postponed due to the winter storm that weekend.

It's ALEX Reporting Time!

All Disciples congregations are asked to update their listing in ALEX, our denominational database that replaced the Yearbook and Directory several years ago. It is invaluable as a warehouse of historical data, but is only as useful as we maintain it with current and correct information. Please make sure that your congregation has a designated reporter and that they update your church's record by March 31st. Consult the online Help Center with questions, or contact the St. Louis Regional office for direction. Thank you!

Boundary Training February 28 in STL

As our Mid-America clergy have been completing their annual professional development reports for 2025, some have come to realize that they are due (or perhaps even over-due) to attend a boundary training session. Such training is required every three years to help ensure ethical boundaries, clear standards, and safe environments for all. A session will be held on Saturday, February 28 at Webster Groves Christian Church in St. Louis. Learn more & register here by February 20>

Save the Date

This year's African American Convocation will be held on April 24 & 25 at Restoration Christian Community Church in Cahokia Heights, Illinois!

The theme this year is Caring for the Temple. Friday’s programming will include hospitality at our host congregation, and evening service by their Pastor Charlie R. Blackmon II. On Saturday the keynote speaker will be Rev. La’Vetta Ross, pastor of St. Louis’ Union Avenue Christian Church.

From the Wider Church

This coming week's Global Ministries prayer request is for Mozambique.

Host a Film Screening

Our Disciples Center for Indigenous Ministries invites congregations to host a free Faith Community screening of the film SUGARCANE through March 31.

A stunning tribute to the resilience of Native people and their way of life, SUGARCANE is an epic cinematic portrait of a community during a moment of international reckoning. Set amidst a ground-breaking investigation into abuse and death at an Indian residential school, the film empowers participants to break cycles of intergenerational trauma by bearing witness to painful, long-ignored truths – and the love that endures within their families despite the revelation of genocide.
