Greetings!

The Society of Television Engineers is pleased to announce the upcoming presentation on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 at the Elks Lodge in Glendale.

Join us at this month’s STE meeting for a discussion of the Navigating the Future of Broadcast: SDI, IP, and the Cloud.

The industry is rapidly evolving, demanding flexibility and scale across all production platforms. Max will explore how leading broadcasters are strategically deploying key technologies to optimize both their On-Prem and Cloud Production environments:

  • 12G SDI: Examining the continued role of high-bandwidth SDI for critical infrastructure and in hybrid facilities.
  • SMPTE ST 2110: Practical insights into adopting the industry standard for uncompressed, low-latency IP media transport.
  • SRT (Secure Reliable Transport): Detailing how this protocol enables reliable, high-quality contribution and distribution over public internet networks.

Max will share real-world accomplishments from EVERTZ's work, including operational examples from high-profile projects like Amazon Prime Live and the NFL SF 49ers production, demonstrating how these technologies are being leveraged for scalable, reliable live content delivery.

This will also serve as a fantastic networking opportunity to connect and exchange information about available opportunities in the media industry.

Associate VP of Operations

Evertz

Max Popov serves as the Associate VP of Operations - Southwest USA for EVERTZ, a global leader in broadcast and media technology.

In his leadership role, Max is directly involved in the practical deployment and operational aspects of next-generation video infrastructure. His expertise is grounded in the industry's critical transition from traditional SDI (Serial Digital Interface) environments to modern IP-based workflows.

Max possesses deep knowledge of the core technologies enabling this shift, particularly SMPTE ST 2110 for uncompressed IP signal transport, and SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) for high-quality, low-latency contribution over public networks.

He is focused on the real-world execution of hybrid and all-IP solutions, providing a valuable perspective on the operational challenges and efficiencies gained by adopting these standards.

Max is a key voice in understanding how to bridge legacy SDI systems with the future of media transport.
