Greetings!
The Society of Television Engineers is pleased to announce the upcoming presentation on Thursday, January 15th, 2026 at the Elks Lodge in Glendale.
John Hurst will take us inside CineCert’s expanding ecosystem, discussing the roadmap for Clipster, the evolution of IMF, and the challenges of engineering for the next generation of content delivery.
The success of D-Cinema Package (DCP), and the industry's rapid evolution to global day-and-date release, are due in no small part to the open, component-based organization of the encoded files. Separate encoding of media types with rich structural metadata supports the creation and distribution of hundreds of versions using a minimum of compute time, QC, storage, and transmission. From the beginning, the DCP was designed for object-based workflows, and for maximum interoperability among the world's content creators, service providers and exhibitors.
The Interoperable Master Format (IMF) extends this very successful data model to any motion imaging application that demands high quality, interoperability, content integrity and security, and many other attributes essential to large-scale content servicing. The presentation will review IMF principles, applications for JPEG-2000 and ProRes codecs in IMF, and strategies for developing efficient editorial workflows using IMF.
This will also serve as a fantastic networking opportunity to connect and exchange information about available opportunities in the media industry.
