Chris Cookson is a distinguished technology executive renowned for his pivotal role in the development of the DVD format. During his tenure as Chief Technology Officer at Warner Bros. Entertainment, which began in 1992, Cookson was instrumental in advancing digital distribution technologies, including the creation of video playback systems on optical discs that evolved into the DVD format.


His innovative contributions are underscored by his holding of over 50 U.S. patents, several of which pertain to DVD technology.
