RCMA’s Director of Technical Services, Chadwick Collins, provided a review of TAC and GAC activities since the last in-person meeting Friday morning during the Charlotte meetings. As he reviewed, RCMA has remained active on many fronts, including ASTM standards development, ICC code proposals and hearings, CRRC testing requirements, regulatory issues with multiple agencies (such as the US EPA and the South Coast Air Quality Management District), and development of the RCMA Virtual Training Program.
For the remainder of 2022, the combined TAC/GAC will have activity on several items. Dates will be scheduled from distributed Doodle polls to reinitialize the industry average Life Cycle Average (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), to identify field testing methods for Rough Substrates to submit for consideration to CRRC, and on ASTM standard development for a new draft document.
RCMA staff will attend ICC Public Comment Hearings in September, the CRRC Technical Committee Meeting in October, and the ASTM D08 committee week in December. Other ongoing items will be the continued discussions on pCBtF with SCAQMD, auditing the VOC maps, and continuing the revisions of RCMA Technical documents.
