2022 Summer Meeting

Thank you to our generous sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees for making the 2022 Summer Meeting a huge success. The three-event kicked off with lunch and a tour of the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety followed by an evening reception.

The second day of the conference had a full day of speakers and panel discussions followed by the exhibitor's reception. The last day of the conference opened with RCMA awards.

We would like to congratulate:
  • Chadwick Collins, Kellen Company - James "Tim" Nelligan Industry Statesman Award
  • Jeffrey Blank, SR Products - Lewis S. Ripps Memorial Award
  • Heather Estes, GAF - RCMA Emerging Leader Award
  • Michael Guibault, BASF - Martin A Davis Industry Leadership Award
Technical Affairs Committee (TAC) &
Government Affairs Committee (GAC) Update
RCMA’s Director of Technical Services, Chadwick Collins, provided a review of TAC and GAC activities since the last in-person meeting Friday morning during the Charlotte meetings. As he reviewed, RCMA has remained active on many fronts, including ASTM standards development, ICC code proposals and hearings, CRRC testing requirements, regulatory issues with multiple agencies (such as the US EPA and the South Coast Air Quality Management District), and development of the RCMA Virtual Training Program.

For the remainder of 2022, the combined TAC/GAC will have activity on several items. Dates will be scheduled from distributed Doodle polls to reinitialize the industry average Life Cycle Average (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), to identify field testing methods for Rough Substrates to submit for consideration to CRRC, and on ASTM standard development for a new draft document.

RCMA staff will attend ICC Public Comment Hearings in September, the CRRC Technical Committee Meeting in October, and the ASTM D08 committee week in December. Other ongoing items will be the continued discussions on pCBtF with SCAQMD, auditing the VOC maps, and continuing the revisions of RCMA Technical documents.
*NEW* RCMA Training Program
At the summer meeting, RCMA announced the launch of its new virtual training program. The program consists of three modules that provide education on the basic, yet necessary information needed to understand roof coatings.

RCMA has coordinated with the American Institute of Architects and International Institute of Building Envelope Consultants to secure CEUs for each of our modules to support the continuing education needs of the industry’s professionals.

The program will include the following three modules:
  • Evaluating and Preparing Surfaces for Roof Coatings
  • Roof Coating Technologies
  • Roof Coating Application Best Practices
Training Program Sponsorship Opportunities
We are looking for member companies that would like to sponsor the training program. We know from the initial testing that we have done that the program will provide valuable exposure to all the sponsors of the program. There will be two types of sponsorship opportunities:
  • Program Sponsor: one company will have their logo front and center on the training website pages as well as on the confirmation email that goes directly into the registrant's in-box. They will be included on all promotional material. (1 sponsorship available)
  • Module Sponsorship: your company's logo will be placed on the first and last slide of the training module as well as on the training website. (6 sponsorships available)

The monies raised from these sponsorships will help to market and support the training programs and eventually help develop more training programs.

If you are interested in becoming either a program or module sponsor, contact Dan Quinonez at
