To understand the core essence Buddhadharma, the only thing asked of you is to give yourself a break. Give yourself a break from thinking you have to do it, see it, achieve it, change it, or bring it to fruition. Give a break to the deep arrogance that assumes this world wouldn’t know how to function without you.... All the Buddhist teachings and methods come to this single point:

Just sit still.

Contemplation of the Week - The Power of Appreciation

In the days to come, upon waking, when you go to sleep, or at anytime during the day, take a moment to bring to mind a sense of appreciation for all that we have. Remind yourself of the fact that your whole life has been made possible by the help of others. Take a moment to appreciate your health, your home, your friends, your family, the world around you. Appreciation lights up our world. It uplift us, it energizes us, and reminds us of just how fortunate we are to have this precious birth and all of the opportunities we have to learn, to grow and to wake up. Our whole life is a reminder of our good fortune, even those difficult times that brought out greater resilience and capacity in us. Appreciation is a simple, yet transformative acknowledgment of the truth.
