On Monday evening, we'll then turn our attention to one of the core practices of the tradition of Mahamudra (The Great Seal), the practice of "stillness, movement and awareness."Through this practice we discover unchanging awareness in all states of mind, whether mind is still, or moving. This unchanging awareness is the window through which we can discover mind's nature in any moment. Please join in.

All are welcome to come at 6:15 for tea and conversation

Last week's discussion

Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche

So many wonderful qualities are already present within us, just waiting to be discovered. The key lies in understanding that things are impermanent and unreal. Sadness, of course, is not an end in itself. But deep sorrow comes with realizing that everything we previously took to be lasting and real is actually just about to disappear—and it never even existed in the first place. Such sadness and disillusionment have a wonderful effect. Sorrow makes us let go. As we stop chasing futile and ultimately painful goals, we embark on the spiritual path with superior strength and resolve.

Contemplation of the Week - Gentle Reminder

As you go about your day in the weeks to come, when you wake up, when you’re sitting down to meditate, or just going about your day, take a moment to bring to mind a quality of the path that you might be experiencing, or that you would aspire to embody. Check yourself. You could ask yourself, “Am I feeling grounded, tamed, contented, open, inspired, connected, tender, kind, compassionate...?” If you find such a quality, how wonderful! If not, encourage yourself gently. This kind of curious inquiry and gentle encouragement is the best way to stay in contact with our intention and our aspiration for the path throughout the day.
