On Monday evening, we'll pick up our exploration of Guru Rinpoche's "Pointing the Staff at the Old Man." This beautiful "hidden treasure" is direct, profound and perfectly suited for these times. These instructions epitomize the profound, yet elegant, style of the Great Perfection (Dzogchen) tradition of Tibet. Please join in!

Here is the recording of last week's teaching.

Upcoming learning opportunity - Befriending Your Beautiful Monsters: A Guide to Emotional Well-Being with Tsoknyi Rinpoche. February 7th - Here

Listening to talks about the dharma, or the teachings of Buddha, or practicing meditation is nothing other than studying ourselves. Whether we’re eating or working or meditating or listening or talking, the reason that we’re here in this world at all is to study ourselves. In fact, it has been said that studying ourselves provides all the books we need.

Contemplation of the Week - Living with Integrity

In the weeks to come, take a few minutes when you wake up, or at the beginning of your session of practice, to bring to mind the “four powers of confession.” Look over the past weeks or months and recall whatever you may have done or said that may have caused harm to yourself or to others, or wasn’t in line with your own aspirations. This is the first of the four powers, Recognition. Next, arouse a sense of healthy Regret for what we have done. Then determine a Remedial Action that will help you move forward and heal whatever needs to be healed. This could simply call you to apologize to whomever you may have harmed, or to commit to increasing your meditation practice and study. Finally, arouse a determination, or Resolve, to not fall into those patterns of behavior again and to be in the world in a way that is aligned with your most virtuous aspirations.
