On Monday evening, We'll be exploring the key points of the teachings and practice that these turbulent times call us to turn to. The entire tradition is an offering to help us stay clear, balanced, and connected at times like this. We'll spend our time together on Monday, reminding ourselves of these particular points of guidance that come down to us through the lineage of great men and women who, themselves, have applied the teachings at times of great difficulty. This will be an interesting discussion. Please join in.

All are welcome to come at 6:15 for tea and conversation.

Applied Dharma - Meets this Wednesday, June 4th from 5:30 - 6:30 PM MT. Beginning this month and continuing for a year, the topic for our monthly gathering will be the Tibetan slogans known as lojong (or mind-training). Susan Barrett will host. For more information and to sign up for reminders.

While all beings have great wisdom and compassion, this is not always apparent. This is simply because they have not recognized what they already have. Thus, aside from merely recognizing our own true nature, there isn’t the slightest thing to meditate on. Recognizing the importance of this, I have passed my days feeling joyful and content, wandering through the mountains and valleys and staying here and there. From my heart, I sincerely encourage all of you to practice diligently in this manner as well.

Contemplation of the Week - Gentle Reminder

As you go about your day in the weeks to come, when you wake up, when you’re sitting down to meditate, or just going about your day, take a moment to bring to mind a quality of the path that you might be experiencing, or that you would aspire to embody. Check yourself. You could ask yourself, “Am I feeling grounded, tamed, contented, open, inspired, connected, tender, kind, compassionate...?” If you find such a quality, how wonderful! If not, encourage yourself gently. This kind of curious inquiry and gentle encouragement is the best way to stay in contact with our intention and our aspiration for the path throughout the day.
