On Monday evening, we'll continue our exploration of analytical meditation that we started with Andy Karr last week. In particular, we'll be following the guidance from the hidden teaching, (Tib. terma), of Guru Rinpoche called "Pointing the Staff at the Old Man". These are beautiful instructions that you won't want to miss. Please join in!

All are welcome to come at 6:15 for tea and conversation.

Here is the recording of last week's teaching.

Meditation Challenge - Our meditation challenge has one more week. Congrats to all our participants! To celebrate the end of the meditation challenge and to build community in the local sangha, we will have a pizza party next Monday, February 2nd, at 6 PM MT before Tim's teachings. All are welcome and encouraged to attend (whether or not you participated in the challenge).

Members, please vote! If you are a member of BC, you should have received an email with google form to vote for Council, the bylaws and last year's annual meeting minutes. Please do so now, we need a majority of members to vote! Questions? Email Marchele

Upcoming learning opportunity - Befriending Your Beautiful Monsters: A Guide to Emotional Well-Being with Tsoknyi Rinpoche. February 7th - Here

“Awareness’ is the quintessential teaching of the Buddha–from the awareness of cool air as you breathe in and then out, to the profound awareness of natural perfection. And with boundless compassion and courage, the sole purpose and activity of all the buddhas is to ring the alarm bell that brings us to this awareness.

Contemplation of the Week - Living with Integrity

In the weeks to come, take a few minutes when you wake up, or at the beginning of your session of practice, to bring to mind the “four powers of confession.” Look over the past weeks or months and recall whatever you may have done or said that may have caused harm to yourself or to others, or wasn’t in line with your own aspirations. This is the first of the four powers, Recognition. Next, arouse a sense of healthy Regret for what we have done. Then determine a Remedial Action that will help you move forward and heal whatever needs to be healed. This could simply call you to apologize to whomever you may have harmed, or to commit to increasing your meditation practice and study. Finally, arouse a determination, or Resolve, to not fall into those patterns of behavior again and to be in the world in a way that is aligned with your most virtuous aspirations.
