On Monday evening, we'll continue with our exploration of Guru Rinpoche's "Pointing the Staff at the Old Man." This beautiful "hidden treasure" is direct, profound and perfectly suited for these times. These instructions epitomize the profound, yet elegant, style of the Great Perfection (Dzogchen) tradition of Tibet. Please join in!

All are welcome to come at 6:15 for tea and conversation.

Here is the recording of last week's teaching.

Tsoknyi Rinppche

Instead of thinking of this and that, one thing after the other, let your mind recognize itself in a single moment. When the mind recognizes itself, there is no thing to see there. It’s just wide open. That’s because the essence of mind is empty. It’s wide open and free.

Contemplation of the Week - The Buddha As My Constant Companion

In the weeks to come as you go about your day, from time to time, take a moment to pause. Take just a few seconds to check in with yourself. Ask yourself, “how is my body? Am I rushing? Can I sense myself and the space around me? Ask yourself, “how is my mind? Am I daydreaming? Am I present to the world around me?” Ask yourself, “how is my heart? Am I connected with others in the world around me? Do I feel connected to them as fellow travelers along this journey of life who have the same dreams as I do and who are worthy, as I am, of having a good and meaningful life?”. As it is said, this natural curiosity and care is “like having Shakyamuni as you constant companion.”
