On Monday evening , we’ll be exploring the Bodhisattva Vow, the commitment to benefit all our "mother sentient beings" however and whenever we can. This commitment is the cornerstone of the path and truly makes our life meaningful. These are beautiful and inspiring teachings that connect our daily activity with the lifelong journey of awakening. Please join in.

All are welcome to come at 6:15 for tea and conversation.

Join Our Community - We will be offering an “Entering the Sangha” ceremony for anyone who would like to officially join the community on May 12th. Membership in the sangha reflects a desire, interest and willingness to participate in what we do. If you are interested or have questions, reach out to Marchele

All sentient beings, who are as limitless as space and who have all been our mothers at some point in the past, have fallen into suffering. They don’t even recognize it as suffering but confuse it with happiness. There are overpowered by karma and the afflictions. Realizing this, we think, “I need to practice in order to help these beings.” That is bodhichita.

Contemplation of the Week - This Perfect Moment

As you go about your day this week notice whomever you encounter. Take a look, see the expression on their face, notice what they're wearing and how they seem. Bring to mind the fact that they, like you, are carrying a heavy burden of concerns. Like you, they may be panicked by recent political news. They may have health problems, emotional problems, issues with their partner, or children. Or, they simply might not know where to turn at this moment.

Simply touch into this truth and repeat to yourself, "just like me". This only takes a moment and can be repeated throughout the day wherever you are and with whomever you meet. This simple practice 'equalizes us'. With this understanding we tenderize ourselves to the reality that we all share. From this connected place we walk in the world in a way that is gentle and compassionately connected. This is not so much a 'practice' to do, but a willingness to see a reality of our shared life that we usually ignore.
