On Monday evening, we're going to explore the guidance that the teachings and our meditation practice offer us as we navigate this particularly difficult and frightening moment in global affairs. With our country at war, inside and out, what can we rely on to help us bring forth the clarity and courage that we are called upon to embody? Please take part in this critical discussion.

All are welcome to come at 6:15 for tea and conversation.

Here is the recording of last week's teaching.

Please note: We will be ONLINE ONLY Monday, March 16th. Join us on Zoom!

The Buddhist Center is hiring an Administrative Coordinator. If you or someone you know is interested, there is more information here.

The whole point of the dharma is to hone and strengthen the potential you have as a human being. You have the potential to have a good life and to make that good life the basis of goodness for others. If you accidentally bump into something called enlightenment in the bargain, that’s also good. Keep this in mind.

Contemplation of the Week - The Buddha As My Constant Companion

In the weeks to come as you go about your day, from time to time, take a moment to pause. Take just a few seconds to check in with yourself. Ask yourself, “how is my body? Am I rushing? Can I sense myself and the space around me? Ask yourself, “how is my mind? Am I daydreaming? Am I present to the world around me?” Ask yourself, “how is my heart? Am I connected with others in the world around me? Do I feel connected to them as fellow travelers along this journey of life who have the same dreams as I do and who are worthy, as I am, of having a good and meaningful life?”. As it is said, this natural curiosity and care is “like having Shakyamuni as you constant companion.”
