Pledge Drive Update

Thank you to all who submitted their pledge for the 2024 - 2025 year! As of today, we are at 93% of our target.

The next step is for the Finance Committee to adjust the budget based on pledges received. The adjusted budget will be communicated when approved by the Board, most likely in late August/early September.

If you have not pledged, please contact Katy Julich at admin@muuf.org or Tim Davis at stewardship@muuf.org

Reminder -- the 2023 -2024 pledge year ends on June 30, 2024. Please submit any balance on your pledge before the 30th. Please also update your payment methods to reflect your new pledge beginning July 1. Thank you for your generosity!

Building Project Update

• The doors from the Welcoming Gallery and Fellowship Hall to the courtyard were installed this week. Top left is taken from the Terrace Room of the courtyard. Top right is taken from the Meeting Room of the Welcoming Gallery door.
• The water line is being switched on Thursday. Our water will now come from the pipes on Normandy Heights Road. Please note there will be no water in the building Thursday morning.
• The gas line is also being moved to the new pipe line on Thursday.

Please remember to follow the signs and fencing and remain out of the construction area.

The MUUF Women’s Retreat is traditionally an independent, fall destination retreat for adult women of the Fellowship, held off-premises. Paid registration includes room and meals. Transportation is not included.

Vegan Pot Luck and Film Screening

You are invited to a vegan potluck dinner and film screening of Cooked: Survival by ZIP Code on Sunday, July 14, beginning at 5:30 pm at UU Congregation of Somerset Hills, 123 East Cliff Street, Somerville, NJ. This event is sponsored by the UUCSH Green Team.

Cooked: Survival by ZIP Code delves into the story of the worst heat disaster in U.S. history in 1995 in Chicago, when 739 residents—mostly elderly and Black—died over the course of one week. The film links the deadly heat wave's devastation back to the man-made disaster of structural racism, shining a light on the issues of poverty, race, class, and education that underlie how natural disasters take lives.

Please register at this link by Friday, July 12 if you plan to attend this event. You're welcome to attend the potluck and the film, or just the film.

The potluck begins at 5:30 pm. The film will begin at 6:30; please arrive between 6:15 pm and 6:30 pm if you plan to attend the film only. It lasts 1 hour and 22 minutes, and there will be moderated discussion for up to 30 minutes following the film.
