What's New at MMF

Backpack Drive Success!

We’re thrilled to share that our annual backpack drive was a huge success, thanks to our generous sponsors and volunteers! Here’s where your donations made an impact:

  • 25 backpacks delivered to NYU Long Island Pediatrics, Hempstead
  • 35 backpacks to SIBS Center in RVC
  • 50 backpacks to Cancer Center for Kids at NYU Langone, Mineola
  • 40 backpacks to the Cancer Center at Stony Brook University Hospital
  • 30 backpacks to the Pediatric Clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital

A special shoutout to Amazon for donating and delivering 100 backpacks to Cohen Children’s Hospital this week!

We couldn’t have done this without the support of our amazing sponsors: Eagle Rock Properties, D2D Consulting, Farmingdale State Farm Insurance office, RED Networking Group, and our dedicated MMF individual donors.

Huge thanks to our board member Dawn, her daughters, and her dance team, Steppin N Style, for helping pack some of the bags!

Fishing Trip Recap

Nassau Police Anglers of Long Island & Michael Magro Foundation sponsored a fishing trip aboard the Yankee III yesterday. Families of children from Stonybrook Pediatric Cancer Clinic and Cancer Center for Kids at NYU Long Island were aboard the boat. Anglers wanted an experience day for the children and their parents/ guardians.

The idea was amazing and the staff at both health systems were so excited to invite multiple families.

Captain told Paul that he had never seen such a variety of fish being caught as he did today. Everyone went home with fish!

The weather was beautiful, the breeze kept everyone cool!

Anglers provided snacks, water, juice, and red hats from Bass Pro shops.

The day was an amazing success and on behalf of MMF, we want to thank all the officers for making this day possible.
