Ring Out - Week of Jan. 26, 2025

The Third Sunday after Epiphany

Introduction to Sunday’s Worship

God’s glory is revealed in the reading of scripture. People stand at attention. People weep. People prostrate themselves in prayer. The unity of the church is another reflection of God’s glory. Most gloriously, the promises of God are fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. Gather round. Listen up. Glimpse the glory of God.

Sunday Worship will be live- streamed on YouTube beginning at 9:45 on Sunday morning. An email with the link will be sent on Sunday morning. You can also watch a recorded version later by visiting our YouTube Page.

You can open or print the bulletin and follow along with the service.

Scouting for Food 🥫

Deadline: February 2nd

In 1981 Saint James Lutheran along with six other local churches combined efforts to create Cooperative Christian Ministry to assist families in need for food and housing. This time of the year is the highest demand for food items for the pantry. Scouting Pack and Troop 91 are hosting a food collection to supply the Cooperative Christian Ministry food pantry with non-perishable food supplies.

Items needed are:

1. Any canned meat or tuna

2. Soups, other than Tomato

3. Fruits, other than Pears

4. Oatmeal and Cereal (whole grain and low sugar, if possible)

5. All types of beans, other than Pintos

6. Pasta, especially Mac & Cheese

7. Toiletries, baby diapers, and paper products

Our group's goal is to collect 2000 pounds of food to deliver to CCM. Please consider clearing your cabinets, or purchasing items and placing them in the portico area by Sunday February 2nd.

You may also donate to CCM with a check that will go to purchase food items.

Thank you for helping to relieve hunger and food insecurity for families in need!

This Week's Lesson

The Lord is Righteous - Psalm 145:1,10-21

Psalm 145 celebrates the permanent nature of God's Kingdom and His work in the lives of people. It reminds anyone reading it that God aims at the highest and best possible things, including the best possible outcomes for our lives! God desires that we be saved and rescued from all the manifestations of sin and death in this world and the next. God has communicated that desire most fully through the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Awareness of that communication leads to a life filled with wonder and practical attention to spiritual and moral growth.
