SEVENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST
God’s word is like the rain that waters the earth and brings forth vegetation. It is also like the sower who scatters seed indiscriminately. Our lives are like seeds sown in the earth. Even from what appears to be little, dormant, or dead, God promises a harvest. At the Lord’s table we are fed with the bread of life, that we may bear fruit in the world.

BLESSING BOX / CCM FOOD DRIVE
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
Ends this Sunday
CCM is experiencing one of their biggest demands ever for non-perishable food. The number of families needing assistance continues to grow. From now until July 16, we will be collecting food to help meet this need. This is a wonderful service that they provide to the county. Some of you already participate by monthly donations. We are challenging others to step up and help. A collection box will be in the Portico area.
Pantry items needed:
- Canned Chicken
- Other Canned Meats (Hash, Chili, Vienna Sausages, etc.)
- Canned peas, carrots, potatoes, and mixed vegetables
- Pasta Sauce
- Any kind of canned beans (Pinto, Chili, Kidney, etc.) except for baked beans/pork & beans
- Peanut Butter
- Any Canned Fruit (Mixed, Peaches, Pears, Pineapple, etc.)
- Cereal
As part of our Summer of Service activity on July 16, we will fill the Blessing Box in Rotary Square and then take food to CCM.

STEWARDSHIP
What is Lutheran stewardship?
Lutheran stewardship is the free and joyous activity of God's family — the church — in managing life's resources for His purposes.
We are looking for individuals at St. James that are willing to step-up and help us match opportunities to time and talents.
Our mission statement says, "Growing in Christ through Worship, Learning, Fellowship and Service." For more information, contact Beth Huss.

THANK YOU
A huge thank-you to my St. James family! I appreciate more than you know the cards, meals, and prayers supporting me during my recent surgery. My healing continues. I am grateful for your love and generosity and for God’s faithfulness.

WE ARE THE BRANCHES
Each week we will remember in prayer our brothers and sisters at one of our partner Lutheran churches in the NC Synod. Please lift them up in your prayers during the week also.
I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing. ~John 15:5
