THIRD SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST
Moses tells the Israelites that they are called to be a priestly kingdom and a holy people. Jesus sends out the disciples as laborers into the harvest. In baptism we too are anointed for ministry, sharing God’s compassion with our needy world. From the Lord’s table we go forth to proclaim the good news, to heal the sick, and to share our bread with the hungry.

We had a very good meeting with Senior Pastor Candidate, Rev. Bill Ridenhour, this past Sunday. For those of you who could not attend but intend on being here for the Congregational Meeting this Sunday, June 18, I would like to pass along a brief bio of Pastor Bill which details his life journey and faith walk. Please contact me if you have any additional questions. Many thanks for the prayers and patience you have given the Call Committee during this process.

2023 Summer Bible Reading Plan
Begins July 2
Join folks all across the synod as we read the Bible together—individuals, congregations, small groups— using the 2023 Summer Bible Reading Plan: Genesis Generations! Brought to you by the synod's Engage the Bible Ministry Team, you'll read together a chapter of Genesis, a short devotional writing, a few questions to ponder, and a prayer. Devotions are written by NC Synod pastors and lay people. The readings begin on Sunday, July 2, and continue through Sunday, July 23—through Chapter 25 of Genesis. (This summer will leave us with a cliff-hanger, poised to continue with Genesis Generations II for Summer 2024.) Receive the daily readings via the website or email.
