Ring Out - Week of Jan. 12, 2025

The Baptism of Our Lord

Introduction to Sunday’s Worship

Today’s festival rejoices in God’s blessings. We recall and celebrate our adoption as God’s children, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the promised company of almighty God when we “pass through the waters . . . the rivers . . . fire.” On this day the heavens open again for this assembly, and we receive the gift of God’s Beloved, Jesus, in bread and wine.

Sunday Worship will be live- streamed on YouTube beginning at 9:45 on Sunday morning. An email with the link will be sent on Sunday morning. You can also watch a recorded version later by visiting our YouTube Page.

You can open or print the bulletin and follow along with the service.

The Lord is Majestic - Psalm 93

We have not directly seen the glory and power of God, but we can compare God's glory and might to the glorious and powerful things that we have experienced, knowing that He surpasses them all. As we look to God as King, we recognize His powerful authority over all that He has created. As we study Psalm 93, we express our submission to His authority by following His example of great love, especially as revealed to us in Jesus.

Salvation Army Meal Week

Thank you to everyone who has committed to providing a meal for our January Salvation Army Meal Week, Sunday, 1/19/25, through Saturday, 1/25/25. As of this email, we only have one date (Tuesday, Jan. 21) left to cover! If you are able and willing to provide a meal, please sign up at the link.

St. James is committed to providing dinners each evening during this week. The Salvation Army Night Shelter in Concord (Patterson Ave & Ashlyn Dr) serves around 40 homeless individuals and families daily, offering meals, rest, and showers. St. James members sponsor these evening meals, which can be homemade or purchased, delivered by 6 PM. Sponsors may stay to serve or simply drop off. Partial or full meal cost reimbursement is available through the Social Ministry Committee.

Online Giving

You can manage your giving online! In a few short minutes, you can make a one-time gift or set up a donation that will process automatically on a recurring basis. Recurring donations are convenient and provide our church with much needed consistent support throughout the year.
