A word of thanks...
There is something deeply beautiful about a church family coming together.
This past Sunday, as Bishop French joined us for worship, I had the privilege of watching St. Mary's do what St. Mary's has done so faithfully for generations. You welcomed a guest as if welcoming Christ himself.
From the first smiles at the door, to the beauty of our worship, to the delicious brunch and joyful conversations that followed, every detail reflected the generous spirit of this parish. Hospitality is much more than setting a table. It is creating a place where people feel seen, valued, and loved. Sunday was a wonderful expression of that holy calling.
I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to every person who helped prepare for the Bishop's visitation. To those who planned, cooked, baked, decorated, greeted, cleaned, served, sang, read, prayed, and quietly worked behind the scenes, thank you. Many acts of love happened long before the first person arrived and continued long after everyone had gone home.
Bishop French shared how deeply she appreciated the warmth of your welcome, the spirit of our worship, and the genuine fellowship she experienced here at St. Mary's. That affirmation belongs to all of you. It reflects the heart of this congregation.
One of the great gifts of parish life is that ministry is never the work of one person. It is the shared work of God's people. Every casserole prepared, every chair arranged, every bulletin folded, every prayer offered, every conversation shared over coffee becomes part of God's ongoing work of building the Kingdom.
Thank you for the many ways you continue to embody the love of Christ. Your kindness, generosity, and joyful service are among the greatest gifts of this parish. It is a blessing to serve alongside you.
With humble gratitude,
Mo. Allison+
