Upcoming Work Schedule on Clairemont Dr.

First, we want to thank the Clairemont community for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience during the recent gas service interruption that occurred near Clairemont Drive and Dakota Drive. The City of San Diego is working with SDG&E and other utility providers to improve information sharing to keep the community updated during unexpected utility interruptions.

Currently, work is ongoing at the Clairemont Drive and Dakota Drive intersection. It is estimated that this work will be completed during the week of Jan. 8, and temporary paving will occur later in the week. After that, the traffic control will be removed.

Following this, crews will continue with pipeline installation near Clairemont Drive and Iroquois Avenue. As they make progress, crews will move north on Clairemont Drive towards Dakota Drive. This phase of work is to install the 30-inch brine line -- the second of the two new pipelines being installed in the road. The first phase of work in this area was focused on installing the 48-inch force main pipeline.

Work to excavate and install pipeline in the roadway will occur during the day. Welding and additional work to complete pipeline installation will occur during the afternoon or night. Crews will do everything they can to keep the noise to a minimum while working at night.

Day work hours to install pipeline are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Afternoon and night work hours to perform welding and other associated tasks are from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Parking restrictions will be in place throughout the work area, please avoid parking in areas with no parking signs. Please exercise caution, observe any signage, and follow any traffic control and/or flaggers on site if you travel through the work zone during this time.

Noise and dust are expected throughout the duration of the work.

Construction notices are posted on morena.purewatersd.org. Please contact purewatersd@sandiego.gov or 833-MOR-PWSD (833-667-7973) with questions about the City’s Pure Water Program and/or the Morena Conveyance South & Middle and Conveyance Bike Lanes project, and a team member will get back to you within one business day.

Safety of the construction crews and community is our top priority. Please slow down near work sites and follow pedestrian instructions.
