FuelExchange™, the merger & acquisition service of Gray, Gray & Gray, LLP, has announced the completion of a transaction in which Roberts Energy, a family owned fuel distributor based in New England, acquired Cota’s Propane Tank Service, a Vermont-based propane distributor and tank service company. Marty Kirshner of FuelExchange™ represented Cota’s Propane Tank Service in the transaction.
“We can’t thank the FuelExchange team enough for the guidance and support they provided from start to finish,” said Kelly and Tim Cota, founders of Cota’s Propane Tank Service. “We knew from our early conversations at industry events that they were the right partner to help us navigate the sale of our business. They really paid attention to what was important to us and made this complex process run smoothly. We are very pleased with the results.”
“We were privileged to work with Kelly and Tim Cota on this transaction. Early on, we helped them define their objectives and the buyer profile they sought. They were very involved in the process dynamics and in selecting Roberts Energy. Both sides are pleased with the result and looking forward to the next chapter,” said Marty Kirshner, CPA, MSA, Partner and Chair of the Energy Practice at Gray, Gray & Gray.
Frank Roberts, President of Roberts Energy, stated, “Working with Carl [Kaplan] and Marty [Kirshner] at FuelExchange was a great experience. They have intimate knowledge and real-world experience in the industry, and the materials they put together were fantastic. The communication was clear and concise, and they did a great job trying to create alignment from buyer and seller quickly. As a company that does not often buy businesses through a formal process, I found a lot of value in their approach, and very much look forward to working with them again.”
