2022 Return to Work Updates
A CTPF retiree may decide to return to work as a teacher, but there are some rules to be aware of to avoid a pension suspension, cancellation, or possible benefit overpayment. Returning to work on a permanent, annual basis will generally result in your pension being immediately cancelled, to resume only upon re-retirement. In 2022, the Illinois General Assembly passed two measures designed to help address the shortage of substitute teachers/administrators. The Fund also updated its Administrative Rules to align with the new legislation. Find more information here, ctpf.org/returntowork.
