Would You Be Willing to Build an ADU on Your Property?

Take the Town's ADU Survey

The Town historically relied on the construction of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), sometimes referred to as "granny flats" or "in-law units," to meet State housing requirements. Because of a five-fold increase in State mandated housing targets, the Town seeks to promote the construction of ADUs to an even greater degree over the coming eight years. The purpose of this survey is to measure your interest in constructing an ADU or ADUs on your property as well as understanding what you believe potential barriers are to their construction so that the Town can work towards removing them.

All responses are extremely valuable as the Town completes its draft housing element.

THE BIG GREEN BINS ARE BACK!

September is Hillsborough Helping Month!!

The Town of Hillsborough and our neighbors made an incredible difference with the Hillsborough Helping 2020-2021 food drive. The food drive ran continuously for 13 months and we donated more than 3,500 bags of groceries to Samaritan House.

As many of you probably heard in the news, demand for food bank services is surging once again because of the increase in inflation and the continued high cost of living in the Bay Area. The recent end to the moratorium on evictions is also putting significant pressure on individuals and families in our community. Samaritan House is the largest provider of meals and groceries to those in need in San Mateo County and serves as a clearinghouse for several food pantries and non-profit organizations.

The Town of Hillsborough and Hillsborough Helping is making September Hillsborough Helping Month - A Food Drive to Support Samaritan House.

The big green bins are back!!! We will begin ongoing collections for the month of September. Samaritan House is in urgent need of the following items.

San Mateo County Updates

Updated COVID-19 Boosters Widely Available

• County Health strongly recommends staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccination. The updated boosters provide important protection in advance of the fall and winter months, when activities move indoors and holiday-related travel increases.

  • County Health offers the updated, bivalent boosters to eligible individuals at its community clinics, with or without an appointment (available on MyTurn). Updated boosters are also available from primary health care providers, such as Kaiser and Sutter, as well as from pharmacies such as Walgreens, CVS, and others.

  • While County Health’s clinics offer updated boosters from Pfizer (for 12+) and Moderna (for 18+), supplies of Moderna have been slower to arrive. Individuals who have booked appointments for Moderna may be offered Pfizer if supplies are low. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the California Department of Public Health advise eligible individuals to get either booster, regardless of which vaccine brand they have already received.
