Power Outage Updates

Power is gradually being restored in Town. PG&E is still estimating that most outages will be resolved by Friday evening. Please continue to check the PG&E Outage Center for status updates and estimated restoration times for your address.

Town Hall and the Burlingame and San Mateo Public Libraries are available during regular business hours for those who need to charge small devices or need to use the internet. Please bookmark the Town's Power Outage Update page for updates and additional information.

Food Safety Tips

Unsure about how long certain foods can last during a power outage? San Mateo County Health has some tips on food safety before, during and after an outage. Click here to review their tips and make sure to bookmark the page for future reference!

Volunteers Needed! 2023 Rising Phoenix Full Scale Exercise

Wednesday, April 19, 2023 - 8:00am - 5:00pm

San Mateo County Health is seeking volunteers to serve as role players for the 2023 Rising Phoenix Full Scale Exercise. This Exercise will include a response to a Mass Casualty Incident, response to a civil disturbance and active threat, and response to a hazardous materials release. Volunteers may support the exercise in the following roles; Actors during the mock incident, moulage, and set-up and take down of the venue. 

Continental Breakfast and Lunch Provided! Wear comfortable, sturdy closed-toed shoes (PLEASE NO SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS), protective clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. Dress in layers and prepare for warm, cold, or changing weather. Other suggested items include: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.

The Hillsborough Memorial Day Event is back for 2023! Please mark your calendars for Monday, May 29th from 10:00am to 2:30pm.

Music Festival Auditions:

The music festival takes place on the North School field 

starting around 11:30am (immediately after the Memorial Day Parade) featuring wonderful musicians from the community.

If you or someone you know is interested in performing in the music festival, please send a note to all or one of the festival organizers below:

Organizers will accept informal audition videos (iPhone videos are fine), welcome all styles of music and encourage performers of all ages to participate!

2023 RethinkWaste Trash to Art Contest

Get your tools and creativity ready! RethinkWaste’s 2023 Trash to Art Contest is now open. This contest encourages students and classes to build an art piece using materials that would otherwise be thrown away or recycled. All mediums of art are encouraged, including sculptures, collages, and murals. At least 90% of the piece must be made from recyclable or trash material. Art pieces should not exceed 3ft x 3ft.

Please note that artwork must be submitted in-person. This year there are TWO contest categories:

• Class category for 3rd-5th grade classes
• Individual category for 3rd-5th grade students
