About the Chipping Program

Our motto is “you cut, we chip”. The chipping program is a collaborative effort between the Town of Hillsborough, Firesafe San Mateo County, and Hillsborough Firewise USA. It is jointly funded by San Mateo County Measure K and the Town of Hillsborough. The goal is to annually contribute to fire resiliency, defensible space, and assist in the ability

for homeowners to obtain property insurance.

Keep Your Chips - The chipping will be LEFT IN A PILE ON YOUR PROPERTY to be used as mulch! If you prefer to dispose your chips, you must give your permission via an email to David Weinberg by Friday September 6th.

The Town is Developing a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan

Take the Survey!

The Town is embarking on its first Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan (BPMP) with the goal of finding opportunities for new bicycle and pedestrian friendly pathways. The Town has winding streets without shoulders or sidewalks, which makes walking and biking safely a challenge. The objectives of the BPMP are to seek community feedback, develop recommendations for future network routes, and set progress and goals for implementation. The BPMP will also investigate safety data to propose impactful recommendations to establish big-picture planning in support of the Town’s long-term planning. As this project gets underway, there will be substantial opportunities for involvement at every stage.

We would love to hear your feedback! Please take a quick online survey to help us gather preliminary data.
