Hello Nune,
Happy Valentine's Day! February brings us stories of inspiration and resilience that warm the heart even in the coldest weather. This month, we celebrate the journeys of two individuals whose lives have been touched by Santa Maria’s work.
Rayvon Griffith, former Oyler School student and Youth Development program participant is now making waves on the University of Cincinnati basketball court. Rayvon recently returned to the Joe Williams Family Center (JWFC), where he used to practice basketball, for a reunion with his former mentors and to meet with current Youth Development program participants who play for Oyler’s basketball team. Through a collaboration with Dunkin' Donuts, he brought hot chocolate and treats with him and JWFC staff provided pizza. It was a chance for Rayvon to reconnect with staff, share his journey with our youth, and inspire the next generation of ballers. His dedication to education and athletics reminds us all of the power of perseverance and community support. Check out the story below and links to a Fox19 story and Rayvon’s questions and answer session with the children.
Koudedia is a mom on a mission to build a brighter future for her family. With the help of her coach, Aisha Matthis, and the resources of Santa Maria's CCMEP program, Koudedia set her sights on medical certifications. She achieved not one, not two, not three, but FOUR certifications. Despite the barriers she faced along the way, Koudedia was the TOP student in her class. Please read her story below.
With your support, Santa Maria can continue to support individuals like Rayvon, Koudedia, and many more. Join us on this journey!
Thank you for being the heart of our mission to help families strive toward a brighter future!
Sincerely,
