Registration Open for Chef Apprentice Program


Registration is now open for the Parks and Recreation Department's 2024 Chef Apprentice Program. This free, 12-week program allows local teens to explore the culinary arts, learn essential life skills, and craft delicious multi-course meals to take home and share. The program runs weekly from January to April at the Franklin Neighborhood Center and Westside Neighborhood Center. Space is limited.

Coming Soon: Hourly Water Use Info and Leak Alerts via WaterSmart


Water customers will soon have access to a new online portal, WaterSmart, to track hourly water use, receive leak alerts, and explore resources on efficient water use. WaterSmart will be available to all customers in early 2024 and will also replace the current online utility bill payment website. This is part of the City’s Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) effort, which upgraded the water meter infrastructure to provide customers with more timely information about their water usage and helps quickly detect leaks

SBPL Teen Interns Host Teen Winter Ball


Santa Barbara Public Library’s Teen Interns are inviting fellow teens in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades to join us for our first-ever Winter Ball this Saturday, December 16 from 5:00-7:30 pm.  Bring your friends along to dance or try some of our fun activities, such as tarot card reading and crafting masquerade-style masks! You won’t want to miss this free event!

Each residential address in the City of Santa Barbara with active trash and recycling service receives four large item pickups (of up to five items, boxes, or bags) each year – even renters in multi-family units! Call MarBorg at (805) 963-1852 to schedule your pickup, gather your items, and place them by the curb on the morning of your assigned pickup day.
