Next Level Lighting Controls - A Guide to Lighting Features in WELL v2


This presentation succinctly outlines the key elements of WELL Building Standard v2, emphasizing the integration of advanced lighting features and controls to achieve Platinum Certification. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of WELL v2's purpose and structure, focusing on strategies for Feature L03 (Circadian Lighting Design) and Feature L09 (Occupant Lighting Control).


The session explores various strategies for Feature L03, emphasizing the vital role of circadian lighting design in promoting healthier indoor environments. Additionally, it underscores the significance of lighting controls in meeting Feature L09, allowing occupants personalized control over their lighting.


A notable case study of the Lutron Global Experience Center in NYC demonstrates successful Platinum Certification (pre-certified) through advanced lighting controls and color-tunable fixtures, illustrating practical application and compliance with multiple features. Ultimately, participants will leave the presentation equipped with valuable insights for leveraging innovative lighting solutions to enhance WELL v2 compliance, particularly aiming for Platinum Certification.

  • Explain the purpose and structure of WELL Building Standard v2.
  • Cite multiple strategies that can be implemented to meet the requirements of Feature L03 Circadian Lighting Design.​

  • Describe how the Lutron Global Experience Center in New York City used advanced lighting controls and color tunable fixtures to achieve Features L01, L02, L03, L04, L05, L07, L08, L09 to achieve WELL Building Standard v2. Platinum Certification (Pre-certified)

Jiten Kapoor, graduated with a master’s in civil engineering from Concordia University in 2018. His professional journey in Canada commenced as an estimator in the local construction market before venturing into construction sales in 2019. With swift progression, Jiten excelled as a Territory Sales Manager, showcasing exceptional leadership and strategic prowess over three years, effectively expanding territories.


In 2023, Jiten Kapoor transitioned to Lutron, a prominent player in lighting control and automation solutions, where he currently serves as a Sales Leader. Collaborating with architects and interior designers, his dedication, industry knowledge, and interpersonal skills have not only fueled company growth but also earned him respect in architectural and design circles. Jiten's career reflects a seamless fusion of technical expertise from his engineering background and a knack for sales, establishing him as a dynamic professional in the evolving realms of construction and sales.
