a. Grease the Hoist Weekly

b. Lubricate Tarp Gantry with silicone spray/schaffers boom lube (if equipped with telescoping gantry)

c. Inspect for and remove debris daily

d. Inspect Cable daily, Lubricate Cable weekly

e. At truck service:

i. Retorque PTO/Pump/Bracket

ii. Inspect all hydraulic hoses, fittings and valves for leaks

f. Inspect all wiring to hoist controls and Tarp system

redbox+ Dumpsters implemented the Truck Rental Program to help our franchisees when they are in a time of need and dedicated a 2024 Kenworth T480 “Baby 8” (66K GVW) with a vac system to the Program.This policy serves to express management’s commitment to and involvement in providing our franchisees truck support in times of need. This truck is ready to go and available to rent now. We added a Truck Rental Guide to our “Roll-off Truck Rental Program” page on the Insider here: Roll-off Truck Rental Program

Smith Truck Body Warranty Process

Smith Truck Body facilitates the warranty claims for all PTOs, hoists, tarp systems and vac systems. BEFORE authorizing work, send an email and get their authorization for work. If you do not do this, you may be responsible for the repair costs! No warranty claim will be honored unless Smith Truck Body LLC has received a written Warranty Claim Report describing the defect within seven days of discovery of such defect. If a Warranty Claim Report is not received within seven days of discovery of such defect, any warranty claim shall be considered waived by the Purchaser See the Warranty Process and Guidelines here:

Kenworth and Smith Truck Body Critical Parts Programs

To eliminate truck down time, we have worked with Rihm Kenworth and Smith Truck Body to update our Critical Parts Programs. Critical Parts are defined as those that will disable the vehicle or render it unable to move dumpsters. This focuses the spare parts on the Kenworth chassis and the hoist; however, Smith Truck is also carrying extra vac system and tarp parts. The goal of the program is to have critical parts available within 24 hours. You can see the Critical Parts list at the bottom of the page here: equipment vendors

Whip Around Update

We continue to clean up Whip Around to make if simple and functional for all users.

 

Inspections:

The Inspection Forms are cleaned up so that is pretty much done.

 

Maintenance:

As we expand the Service Programs, some franchisees may get notified that Work Orders were generated by Nick. These are automatically generated by WA. If they Work Order is current they should have the truck serviced. If not, they can close, or delete, the Work Order. We apologize for the inconvenience. When Nick gets all the work orders entered, he will go back and fine tune the work orders and notifications, as appropriate. 

 

We will write an SOP for “Adding an Asset in Whip Around” to make it easier and encourage some commonality. Lastly, Nick will continue to clean, manage and maximize our use of Whip Around as a valuable Inspection and Maintenance Program. “NEW” Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

There are new SOPs for your use. The intent is to provide a step-by-step explanation of the processes and troubleshooting steps as an alternative to watching videos. So far, we have posted three SOPs to the Insider: 1) Vac System Troubleshooting, 2) Airbag Troubleshooting and 3) Hoist Troubleshooting. The next ones will cover Adding Assets to Whip Around, Warranty Claim Process and Truck Breakdown Process. You can find them here: RB Video training

Vac Pump Maintenance Alert

Ensure you flush your vac system quarterly, per the Whip Around program. A franchisee had to spend an extended amount of time taking the pump apart because the internal fins became stuck and would not work properly. It was very time consuming and costly so please ensure you are doing this to prevent the problem. It is part of the Quarterly Inspection.

Hoist and PTO Maintenance

It is highly recommended to check the torque on the PTO and PTO bracket during every Periodic Maintenance to prevent the loss of an expensive PTO.
