At Westminster, Shawn Redmond’s music track allowed him to focus intensively on the oboe while also exploring multiple woodwinds. Through his minor in Professional Communication and Leadership, Shawn also gained valuable experience in leadership strategies and practical skills that continue to benefit him throughout his graduate studies and beyond.

Alumni Will ’53 and Carol Jean (Young) ’62 Maurer have committed another gift of more than $1 million to Westminster College to support academic programming, strengthen student opportunities and enhance their longstanding scholarship at the College.

Michelle (Bistrica) Shelman '10 is the new program director and midday host at 102.3 The Rose in Louisville, KY!

Chentis Pettigrew '69 received the 2026 Education Vanguard Award from NEED, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit college access program providing scholarships, grants and mentoring to underrepresented, low-income youth.

Chris Carmody '96, CTO, UPMC, was named CTO of the Year at Pittsburgh Technology Council's Tech Titan Awards.

Savannah Furlong '25 earned an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certification at Central Penn.

Todd Cole '83 received the Towering Titan Faculty Recognition Award at the 2026 WESPYs hosted by Titan Athletics.

Dr. Colby King '07, is recognized with a Faculty Excellence Award for Scholarly and Creative Pursuits by the University of South Carolina Upstate.

Forward Lawrence recently featured entrepreneur Sierra Cerezo '25 with a story on Facebook about the new transportation business she co-owns.

Jason Makrinos '05 has accepted a new consultant role with Focus 3, a leadership development and culture training firm.

Eric Michalski '16 authored an Insight article in the Post-Gazette, "When Hockey in Pittsburgh Began."
