DOE Speed to Power Initiative: Why Advanced Conductors Like ACCC® Conductor Are the Proven, Ready-Now Solution
The Department of Energy’s new Speed to Power Initiative, launched September 18, 2025, underscores the urgent need to expand the U.S. grid at a pace never seen before. With electricity demand surging from AI, hyperscale data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, and industrial electrification, the DOE warns that without rapid upgrades, blackout risks could rise one hundredfold by 2030. Crucially, the DOE highlights reconductoring existing transmission lines with at least 500 MVA of added capacity as a key “shovel-ready” solution - one that avoids the decade-long delays tied to building entirely new infrastructure.
CTC Global’s ACCC® Conductor is uniquely positioned to meet this challenge. Already deployed across 50,000+ kilometers of transmission lines in over 65 countries, ACCC® Conductor doubles line capacity, cuts line losses, reduces sag, and enhances wildfire safety - while fitting seamlessly on existing rights-of-way. These efforts are supported by DOE funding and financing pathways such as TFP, GRIP, and LPO, and more recently, Google. Reconductoring with ACCC® Conductor offers utilities and policymakers a proven, immediately scalable solution to deliver the gigawatts of reliable power needed to secure U.S. industrial growth and AI leadership. Speed matters. ACCC® Conductor delivers it.
| | | Why ACCC® Conductor Is the Leading “Next-Generation” Composite Core Conductor | As utilities confront the pressures of rising electricity demand, many are looking to so-called “next-generation” composite conductors to deliver higher capacity, greater efficiency, and improved reliability. But while new entrants make bold claims, only one solution has been thoroughly tested, widely deployed, and continuously refined over two decades. CTC Global’s ACCC® Conductor. With its proven carbon composite core technology, unmatched global track record, and complete ecosystem of supporting hardware and training, ACCC® Conductor has defined the category and continues to set the benchmark for performance. For utilities seeking a truly field-proven conductor that delivers measurable, long-term value, ACCC® Conductor remains the clear leader. | | | The ROI of Reconductoring: How Advanced Conductors Pay for Themselves | In a power sector where demand is rising faster than new infrastructure can be built, utility leaders are searching for solutions that deliver immediate capacity, long-term efficiency, and strong financial returns. Reconductoring with Advanced Conductors, such as CTC Global’s ACCC® Conductor, has emerged as one of the smartest investment strategies available - doubling capacity without the costs, delays, and controversies of new transmission builds. Beyond capital efficiency, reconductoring reduces line losses, improves reliability, mitigates wildfire risk, and aligns seamlessly with evolving regulatory incentives. The result is a solution that not only pays for itself in just a few years but continues generating measurable returns for decades. | | | Advanced Conductors: Why the Collet Hardware System Is Essential for Composite Core Conductors | As utilities adopt advanced composite core conductors to modernize the grid, one critical factor often overlooked is the hardware system that secures these conductors in place. Unlike traditional steel-core cables, composite cores behave differently under stress and cannot be safely terminated with conventional fittings. Using the wrong approach risks hidden damage, premature failure, and serious reliability and safety consequences. That’s why CTC Global’s patented collet hardware system has become essential: it is purpose-built to protect composite cores, distribute stress evenly, and deliver decades of proven, field-tested reliability. Without the right hardware, the promise of advanced conductors cannot be fully realized. | | |

1,400+ ACCC® Projects Completed
| | | Project Spotlight: PLN Ngoro–Sekarputih, East Java |
PT. PLN UIT JBM recently completed a 21 km reconductoring project on the 150 kV Ngoro–Sekarputih transmission line in Mojokerto, East Java. The upgrade was designed to increase capacity and reliability to meet growing regional demand.
- Conductor: ACCC® Brussels (8.13 mm core)
- Quantity Delivered: 137 km (manufactured by KAMESA in Indonesia)
- Configuration: Double circuit, single conductor per phase
- Structures: Steel lattice towers
The project was engineered by PT. PLN PUSMANPRO, built by PT. Centra Multi Elektrindo, with hardware from PLP and installation support from CTC Global Master Installers and Kamesa supervisors. Four installation crews completed each circuit in just two weeks using OMAC equipment. By selecting ACCC® Conductor, PLN achieved a cost-effective capacity increase with minimal tower modifications, improved efficiency, and reduced line losses - strengthening East Java’s grid for the future.
