CTC Global and Google Announce Initiative to Expand American Electric Grid and Transmission Capacity, U.S. Supply Chain with Advanced Conductors
CTC Global and Google announced a first-of-its-kind strategic collaboration to accelerate the deployment of our next-generation transmission technology to more U.S. customers and serve the growing electricity demand, including data centers. This initiative will help scale the use of CTC Global’s high-capacity, U.S.-manufactured ACCC® Conductors capable of boosting grid capacity and reliability at unparalleled speed. Read Google’s blog post here: https://blog.google/feed/ctc-global-partnership-us-electrical-grid-capacity/
CTC Global’s ACCC® Advanced Conductors can double transmission capacity in months, as opposed to the years typically needed for new transmission builds. With power demands increasing across the country, businesses and communities need solutions to unlock more power capacity – and they can’t afford to wait years. Reconductoring existing transmission corridors with our Advanced Conductors is a fast, proven way to double capacity and meet new and growing sources of electricity demand.
This collaboration begins with a Request for Information process that is open to utilities, transmission operators, and local policymakers and state economic development offices to propose high-impact reconductoring projects that could be completed to unlock significant capacity at the end of 2026.
For additional information about this initiative and the Request for Information process, please visit our resource page and read our press release.

| | Bridging the AI–Energy Gap with Advanced Conductors | As AI and data center growth drive surging electricity demand, utilities must quickly scale grid capacity without waiting years for new transmission lines. Traditional steel-reinforced conductors are limited, but CTC Global’s ACCC® Conductor doubles capacity and reduces line losses by up to 40%, enabling utilities to meet the demand from AI and data centers. With over 185,000 kilometers installed globally, ACCC® Conductor supports clean energy integration, improves efficiency, and provides the capacity needed for the future of AI, digital infrastructure, and economic growth. | | | Heatwaves, Grid Strain, and the Strategic Role of Advanced Conductors | Recent heatwaves across the eastern U.S. have driven electricity demand and prices to unprecedented levels, exposing critical vulnerabilities in our grid infrastructure. As utilities grapple with soaring costs and capacity constraints, Advanced Conductor technologies like CTC Global’s ACCC® Conductor offer an immediate, cost-effective solution by doubling line capacity without new corridors, reducing losses, and enhancing resilience. With extreme weather events becoming more frequent and digital infrastructure demand surging, Advanced Conductors are proving indispensable for building a reliable, affordable, and future-proof grid. | | | Why We Need a Modern Power Grid – And What It Will Take to Build It | America's electric grid, once an engineering marvel, now struggles to meet surging demands from AI data centers, electric vehicles, and building electrification, while renewable generation is often far from where it's needed. Traditional steel-reinforced conductors like ACSR and ACSS are increasingly inadequate, limiting grid capacity and reliability. Advanced Conductors, such as CTC Global’s ACCC® Conductor, provide a proven solution by doubling line capacity, reducing line losses, and improving resilience without new towers or long permitting delays. Utilities are already deploying these technologies to support growth, decarbonization, and risk management, making Advanced Conductors essential for a more efficient and reliable grid. | | | Power Grid Bangladesh LLC Energizes New 400 kV Line with ACCC® Conductor with help of KEC international | Power Grid Bangladesh LLC has successfully energized its new 400 kV Kaliakoir–Bogura transmission line, strengthening the grid and supporting regional power imports from India, Nepal, and Bhutan. The project used ~3,150 km of Dhaka size ACCC® Conductor supplied by Sterlite Power, with hardware from Preformed Line Products (PLP). The EPC was led by KEC International Ltd. and the installation was expertly assisted by CTC Global Master Installers, which contributed to zero conductor-related incidents. This milestone demonstrates how advanced conductors like ACCC® Conductor are improving grid capacity, reliability, and efficiency for Bangladesh’s fast-growing economy. | | Operator Michelle Castro in Canada, standing by with crew awaiting to conduct ACCC InfoCore® System confirmations on ACCC® Hawk AZR Conductor. | |
