CTC Global Introduces ACCC® Plus Conductor
Utilities worldwide are facing increasing pressure to add transmission capacity faster while managing clearance constraints, structure requirements, project costs, reliability, and long-term performance. To give transmission engineers greater flexibility in addressing these challenges, CTC Global has introduced ACCC® Plus Conductor, an addition to the proven ACCC® Conductor family that delivers increased mechanical performance, lower thermal sag, greater strength, and expanded opportunities to optimize conductor and transmission line designs.
Positioned between standard ACCC® Conductor and ACCC® ULS Conductor, ACCC® Plus provides an additional performance option for projects that require more demanding mechanical and sag performance without necessarily requiring the highest-performance ULS solution. By giving engineers more flexibility to balance strength, span length, sag, aluminum content, electrical efficiency, structure spacing, and project economics, ACCC® Plus expands the range of solutions available for new transmission lines, rebuilds, and select reconductoring projects as utilities work to meet rapidly growing grid needs.
| | | | More Capacity, Less Right-of-Way: How Advanced Conductors Are Changing Transmission Line Design | New guidance from India’s Central Electricity Authority (CEA) highlights an increasingly important opportunity for transmission planners: Advanced Conductor technology can not only increase capacity, but also reduce the physical footprint of new transmission infrastructure. By recognizing how carbon-fiber composite-core conductors can reduce thermal sag and right-of-way requirements compared with other conductor technologies, the CEA is helping move conductor selection earlier into the transmission design process. With more than 1,600 ACCC® Conductor projects completed in 70 countries, CTC Global continues to demonstrate how proven Advanced Conductor technology - supported by innovations such as ACCC InfoCore® System and the GridVista™ System - can help utilities build transmission infrastructure that is more capable, efficient, verifiable, and intelligent. | | | | From Discussion to Deployment | America’s transmission challenges have been studied extensively, and the message from DOE, FERC, Grid Strategies, ACEG, ClearPath, GridWise Alliance and others is becoming increasingly consistent: we need more grid capacity, and we need it faster. While new transmission remains essential, proven technologies such as the ACCC® Conductor can help utilities unlock substantially more capacity from existing corridors, while innovations including the ACCC InfoCore® System and the GridVista™ System can add greater verification, visibility, and confidence. With more than 1,600 ACCC® Conductor projects completed in 30 U.S. states and over 70 countries, the technology, engineering experience, and deployment record already exist. The question is no longer whether we have solutions—it is how quickly we can put them to work. | | | | |

| | Engineering Across One of the World’s Most Dynamic Rivers | | Power Grid Bangladesh PLC recently achieved a major milestone with the successful completion and energization of a challenging 230 kV double-circuit crossing of the Jamuna River using Drake size ACCC® ULS Conductor. Featuring a span exceeding 1,200 meters and towers approximately 111 meters high, the crossing required exceptional planning, precise tension control, specialized stringing operations and close coordination among Power Grid Bangladesh PLC, KEC International, Apar Industries, Dervaux, CTC Global and field personnel. Completed across one of the world’s most dynamic river systems, the project highlights why Bangladesh continues to select ACCC® Conductor for demanding transmission applications where high strength, low sag, increased capacity, improved efficiency, and long-term reliability are critical. | | | |

October 14-16 | New Delhi, India
| CTC Global will participate in TransTech India 2026, October 14–16 in New Delhi, India. Our India team looks forward to connecting with industry partners and showcasing our solutions for the evolving transmission grid. | | | | When Transmission Becomes a Capacity Resource: The Next Step Is Maximizing the Grid We Already Have | A thoughtful new report from Americans for a Clean Energy Grid (ACEG) challenges the traditional view of transmission as simply the infrastructure that moves electricity from generation to load, highlighting its measurable value as a capacity and reliability resource. if transmission capacity has economic value, how much more value can we create from the infrastructure we already have? Advanced Conductors such as ACCC® Conductor, combined with technologies such as the GridVista™ System, can help utilities increase deliverable capacity, reduce losses, improve asset visibility, and make better use of existing transmission corridors - shifting the conversation from the cost of grid modernization to the value it can create. | | | | Getting More From the Grid: New Research Highlights the Value of Advanced Conductors | New research from ClearPath and Evolved Energy Research reinforces the growing importance of Advanced Conductors in meeting America’s rapidly increasing electricity demand. Using ERCOT as a test bed, the study found that reconductoring existing transmission corridors with high-ampacity conductors could provide nearly 75% of added grid capacity by 2030 in a high-growth scenario, while reducing transmission investment by an estimated $20 billion and avoiding approximately 6,500 miles of additional greenfield transmission by 2040. Significantly, the report describes composite-core conductors as the “workhorse of near-term grid expansion." | | | | |
