Advancing the Grid Together: 2025 a Year of Global Impact

What an amazing year it’s been for the global transmission industry - and for all of us at CTC Global. As utilities worldwide faced unprecedented load growth driven by AI, data centers, electrification, and broader economic expansion, the conversation around grid modernization shifted dramatically. Policymakers, regulators, and system operators increasingly recognized that Advanced Conductors are no longer an optional upgrade but a foundational requirement for meeting reliability, efficiency, and decarbonization goals. From influential studies by the Berkeley Haas Energy Institute, Grid Strategies, and the Brattle Group to large-scale planning initiatives across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, 2025 marked the year the world fully embraced advanced reconductoring and high-capacity line design as essential parts of the energy transition.

For CTC Global, this global momentum translated into extraordinary progress across our technology, partnerships, and projects. ACCC® Conductor deployments expanded significantly, including high-impact installations in Bangladesh, India, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the U.S., where utilities continued to rely on ACCC® Conductor to increase grid capacity, improve efficiency, and address challenges ranging from wildfire mitigation to rapid load growth. Our teams continued to support customers with exceptional focus and collaboration, ensuring that every project delivered measurable performance improvements and long-term value while reinforcing confidence in Advanced Conductor solutions.

Most importantly, we want to thank our customers, partners, and the dedicated CTC Global team for making this year exceptional. Your trust, innovation, and commitment are the driving force behind every success we’ve achieved. Whether designing more capable new lines, solving urgent capacity challenges, preventing outages, or enabling the clean-energy transition, your partnership has helped accelerate a stronger, smarter, and more resilient grid for communities around the world. As we look ahead to 2026, we are deeply grateful for the work we’ve accomplished together - and we’re more energized than ever to continue supporting the world’s growing need for reliable, efficient, high-performance transmission solutions.

TRENDING NEWS

Modernizing the Grid with Proof, Performance, and Purpose

In this article we examine why reconductoring with proven Advanced Conductors has become the fastest and most practical path to grid modernization. With accelerating demand from electrification, AI, data centers, and renewable integration, the piece explains how utilities can dramatically increase capacity, reduce losses, and strengthen resilience simply by upgrading conductors on existing lines. It highlights independently verified ACCC® Conductor performance data, clarifies the differences between true high-temperature solutions and less-proven alternatives, and underscores why reconductoring is emerging as a credible, scalable strategy for meeting today’s grid challenges. It’s an insightful look at how meaningful results - not claims - are shaping the future of transmission.

Who Said ACCC® Conductor is Only Good for Reconductoring Projects?

This article highlights how Bangladesh’s new 400 kV transmission corridor is changing perceptions about where ACCC® Conductor delivers the greatest value. Long recognized for its unmatched performance in reconductoring projects, ACCC® Technology is proving equally powerful - and in many ways even more advantageous - on long-distance, high-voltage greenfield lines. By combining high capacity, exceptional efficiency, low thermal expansion, and strong long-span performance, ACCC® Conductor is helping Bangladesh and several other countries build a modern transmission backbone that supports load growth, renewable integration, and regional energy connectivity. The story offers a compelling look at how Advanced Conductors are reshaping EHV line design and why major utilities are adopting ACCC® Conductor for their most strategic new corridors.

Why Advanced Conductors Must Become the Backbone of the Modern Grid

Here is a good case for why Advanced Conductors must become a central pillar of modern grid planning. As load growth accelerates driven by AI, electrification, renewables, and extreme weather, the grid is being pushed far beyond the assumptions that shaped transmission design decades ago. While many utilities still rely on legacy steel-core conductors, this article explains why this mindset is no longer compatible with today’s operational realities - or tomorrow’s demands. It explores how modern composite-core solutions like ACCC® Conductor improve capacity, reliability, efficiency, and wildfire resilience, and why regulators and system operators worldwide are increasingly treating advanced reconductoring as an essential strategy rather than a niche option. It’s a timely look at how the industry must evolve to meet the challenges ahead.

Why the Collet Hardware System Is Essential for Composite Core Conductors

As utilities accelerate their shift toward Advanced Composite Core Conductors to meet rising energy demand, reduce losses, and strengthen grid resilience, one critical factor is too often overlooked: the hardware that anchors these high-performance conductors to the system. This month, we spotlight why proper termination isn’t just a technical detail - it’s a defining factor in the long-term safety and success of any composite conductor deployment. In this post, we describe the essential role of the Collet Hardware System, which dispels the risky myth that composite conductors can be installed with “conventional” compression fittings, and explains why precision-engineered terminations are the foundation on which reliable, next-generation grid infrastructure must be built.

RECENT REPORTS

Delaying Transmission Increases Costs and Reduces Benefits for Consumers

This post highlights a powerful new analysis from Grid Strategies and WIRES that puts hard numbers to a challenge utilities know all too well: every year of delay in building or upgrading transmission costs Americans billions in lost economic value. The Cost of Delayed Transmission quantifies how postponed projects drive higher congestion costs, reduced reliability, slower industrial growth, and missed opportunities for cleaner, more efficient power. Our accompanying story explores what these findings mean for the industry - and why Advanced Conductors like ACCC® Conductor offer one of the fastest, most practical ways to unlock capacity, improve efficiency, and recover value within existing corridors. It’s a timely reminder that when it comes to grid modernization, delay is costly - but proven solutions are already within reach.

New Report Highlights the Urgent Need for Scalable Grid Solutions

A new Grid Strategies report, Transmission Congestion for 2024, offers a clear look at one of the nation’s most urgent challenges: the growing mismatch between transmission capacity and rapidly rising demand. The study shows congestion has become a persistent, structural issue costing U.S. consumers over $12 billion last year, driven by electrification, data center growth, renewable integration, and aging infrastructure. With new transmission expanding far too slowly, the report highlights the need for scalable, near-term solutions — including Grid-Enhancing Technologies and High-Performance Conductors. These findings align directly with the benefits of ACCC® Conductor, which can boost capacity, cut losses, and improve reliability using existing corridors. CTC Global appreciates this important work and remains committed to supporting utilities as they strengthen the modern grid.
