Shell leads tours of ag programs at 14 schools

across Ky. during All in for Ag Education Week 


Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell led a weeklong tour of ag programs at 14 schools across the state last week during the second bi-annual All in for Agriculture Education Week. On opening day, Monday, Sept. 15, Commissioner Shell (back row in hat) was joined to his right by Miss Kentucky Ariana Rodriguez and to his left by Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman and Commissioner of Education Robbie Fletcher. They were joined by representatives from Kentucky FFA and 4-H, as well as 11 agriculture students at Simpsonville Elementary School, some holding fresh produce grown in one of their two school gardens.

Raising Hope grants available for farm safety, rescue, health


KDA’s Raising Hope program is investing $200,000 for the grants, an increase of $75,000 over last year’s funding.
